The 2025 Genesis Electrified G80: A Step Forward for the Electric Sedan

Genesis has unveiled an upgraded version of its Electrified G80 at the Busan International Mobility Show in South Korea, featuring a longer wheelbase, an increased battery capacity, and a host of luxurious enhancements inside and out.

While official EPA range figures for the US market are yet to be announced, the vehicle is equipped with a larger 95.4 kWh battery pack in South Korea (up from 87.2 kWh), resulting in an 11% increase in the 2025 Genesis Electrified G80’s range. Specifically, the range has increased from 427 km to 475 km, according to South Korean test procedures.

Genesis has not mentioned any changes to the powertrain, so it is likely that the vehicle will continue to feature dual electric motors, producing 365 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque.

The 2025 Genesis Electrified G80 boasts a 130 mm longer wheelbase, providing rear passengers with more legroom. Passengers can now enjoy VIP reclining seats with extended legroom and memory functions. Additionally, the EasyClose system allows users to close the doors with just the push of a button, similar to a Rolls-Royce.

The interior of this luxury sedan has also been upgraded with technology, featuring a massive 27-inch OLED display that replaces the previous 14.5-inch screen. This new screen serves as both the instrument cluster and the infotainment center, creating a stylish and futuristic look.

On the outside, the Electrified G80 sports a subtly redesigned G-Matrix Crest grille, new headlights with Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology, and additional chrome accents. New 19-inch alloy wheels and a refined front bumper complete the exterior refresh.

Although official pricing for the new Electrified G80 has not been announced, it is expected to see a slight increase over the current model’s starting price. The upgraded Genesis Electrified G80 will be launched in the South Korean market in August 2024, with other markets to follow soon after.
