Wuling Bingo, the highly anticipated electric vehicle from the renowned automotive brand, is set to make its debut in Vietnam as early as June or July 2024, according to authorized dealers.
In a recent development, TMT Motor’s official website featured images of two Wuling Bingo vehicles within the premises of their plant in Van Lam, Hung Yen. The company has also confirmed its plans to distribute this model in Vietnam.
As of now, most Wuling dealerships across the country have started accepting pre-orders for this much-awaited vehicle. According to sales consultants, the Wuling Bingo is expected to hit the Vietnamese market by the end of June or early July.
The Wuling Bingo has overall dimensions of 3,950 x 1,705 x 1,580 mm (LxWxH) and a wheelbase of 2,560 mm, positioning it in the A-segment. Its direct competitor is the VinFast VF 5, which measures 3,965 x 1,720 x 1,580 mm.
Unlike the Wuling Mini EV, the Bingo sports a curvy and rounded design, reminiscent of the Mini Cooper. It comes equipped with 14-inch wheels, significantly smaller than the 17-inch wheels found on the VinFast VF 5.
Referring to its specifications in the Chinese market, the Wuling Bingo boasts a modern interior with a 7-inch instrument cluster behind the steering wheel and a 10.25-inch central infotainment screen. It also offers power-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, a push-button start, and electronic parking brakes.
In terms of safety, this Chinese-made electric vehicle provides basic features such as ABS/EBD, electronic stability control, a rearview camera, parking sensors, and tire pressure monitoring.
However, it is likely that the Vietnamese version will have some features omitted to maintain a competitive price point.
Performance-wise, the Wuling Bingo is equipped with an electric motor that generates 68 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque. In contrast, the VinFast VF 5 offers double the power output at 134 horsepower. The Bingo’s battery pack has a capacity of 31.9 kWh, providing a range of over 300 kilometers on a single charge.
Pricing details for the Wuling Bingo in Vietnam are yet to be announced. However, according to sales consultants, it is expected to fall in the range of 500 to 600 million VND. At this price point, there are already several attractive options available in the Vietnamese market. Its direct competitor, the VF 5 Plus, is currently priced at 480 million VND. Additionally, the Wuling Bingo will also face competition from CUVs and hatchback A-segment vehicles such as the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Toyota Wigo.
