Hyundai to Launch Two New Models in the Fourth Quarter of 2024
According to speculations, one of the new models is expected to be the Hyundai Tucson, a mid-life facelift version that was previously introduced in the South Korean market in December 2023.
Hyundai Thành Công, the official distributor in Vietnam, has not yet confirmed this information. However, if this information is accurate, it is highly likely that the 2024 Tucson introduced in Vietnam will feature a similar design and equipment as the new Tucson in the South Korean market.
Compared to its predecessor, the 2024 Hyundai Tucson has undergone subtle exterior design changes. The front grille, known as the Parametric grille, has been slightly reduced in size and is accompanied by bird-wing-shaped positioning lamps. Meanwhile, the front bumper has been widened horizontally, giving the SUV a more robust stance. On the other hand, the side profile and rear combination lamps of the new Tucson remain largely unchanged from the previous model.
In the South Korean market, customers who favor a sportier style can opt for the Hyundai Tucson 2024 N Line version, which features a unique grille with its own logo, 19-inch alloy wheels, and dual exhaust pipes.
In terms of interior design, the Hyundai Tucson 2024 boasts a dual-screen setup similar to its “older brother,” the Santa Fe 2024. This setup includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch central infotainment screen combined into one seamless display. The three-spoke steering wheel has been streamlined and now integrates function buttons.
With this mid-life upgrade, the traditional gear lever has been removed, replaced by shift paddles located behind the steering wheel. The central control cluster is positioned just below the air conditioning vents and includes function buttons for adjusting the air conditioning, audio system, and seats. The center armrest has also been redesigned to be larger, incorporating a storage compartment, wireless phone charging, and cup holders.
Additionally, the SUV has been upgraded with ambient lighting, automatic toll collection when passing through toll booths, Digital Key 2, a fingerprint scanner, a head-up display (HUD), a dashcam, memory functions for the driver’s seat and side mirrors, and an electrically adjustable trunk lid.
The Hyundai Tucson 2024 also incorporates notable technologies such as the Automatic Terrain Mode (which can identify road surfaces in real time and automatically select the optimal driving mode) and the Cross Wind Stability Control system, which enhances vehicle stability at high speeds.
It is anticipated that the Hyundai Tucson 2024 in Vietnam will retain the previous model’s engine options: a 2.0L gasoline engine producing 156 horsepower and 192 Nm of torque, a 2.0L diesel engine generating 186 horsepower and 416 Nm of torque, and a 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engine delivering 180 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque. These engines will be paired with either a 6-speed automatic, an 8-speed automatic, or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The pricing for the 2024 Tucson in Vietnam remains to be announced. Currently, the pre-facelift Tucson is priced between 769 and 919 million VND.
