According to some sales consultants, the upgraded mid-life cycle version of the Hyundai Tucson will be launched in the Vietnamese market in November this year.
At certain dealerships, the number of Tucson vehicles available is also quite limited. The two gasoline engine versions, 2.0L Standard and Special, are currently sold out. There are only a few units left of the 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engine version. Only the 2.0L diesel Special version remains widely available, with some dealerships offering discounts to clear inventory.
The Hyundai Tucson facelift was introduced in the international market in November 2023. Compared to its predecessor, the exterior design of the 2024 Hyundai Tucson features subtle changes. For instance, the front grille area has been redesigned with a smaller Parametric grille, accompanied by wing-shaped positioning lights. Meanwhile, the front bumper has been widened horizontally, giving the car a more robust appearance. On the other hand, the body and taillights of the new Tucson remain almost unchanged from the previous model.
In this mid-life cycle upgrade, the 2024 Hyundai Tucson is equipped with a dual-screen setup similar to its “older brother,” the 2024 Santa Fe. This setup includes a digital instrument cluster and a central infotainment screen, both measuring 12.3 inches and seamlessly integrated. The steering wheel has been redesigned to be more slender, with integrated function buttons.
The gear selector has been relocated from the center console to a position behind the steering wheel, similar to other new Hyundai models. The central armrest has also been redesigned to be larger, incorporating a storage compartment, wireless phone charging, and cup holders.
The car has also been upgraded with an interior ambient lighting system and features such as automatic toll collection when passing through toll stations, digital key 2, fingerprint scanner, head-up display, dashcam, memory function for driver’s seat and mirrors, and electric tailgate operation.
In terms of safety equipment, the 2024 Hyundai Tucson will be enhanced with notable technologies, including Automatic Terrain Mode (which can identify road surfaces in real-time and automatically select the optimal driving mode) and Cross Wind Stability Control, which improves vehicle stability at high speeds.
It is expected that the 2024 Hyundai Tucson in Vietnam will retain the same engine options as its predecessor. These include a 2.0L gasoline engine with a maximum output of 156 horsepower and 192 Nm of torque, a 2.0L diesel engine producing 186 horsepower and 416 Nm of torque, and a 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engine delivering 180 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque.
These engines are paired with either a 6-speed automatic, an 8-speed automatic, or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
