The iconic British automotive brand has recently introduced the all-electric Mini Cooper SE to the Southeast Asian market, following its global launch.
Mini Cooper SE measures 3,858 mm in length, 1,756 mm in width, and 1,458 mm in height. Compared to its internal combustion engine counterpart, the electric Mini Cooper is slightly more compact in length but gains an extra 29 mm in width and 44 mm in height.
Design-wise, the Mini Cooper SE stands out with its distinctive green paint job. It retains the classic Mini design language with its three-door, four-seat compact design, offering a familiar yet refreshed feel to its users.
This all-electric version features LED daytime running lights integrated into its signature round LED headlights and LED matrix taillights. It rides on two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 225/40 tires.
The Mini Cooper SE boasts a minimalist yet modern interior with a 9.4-inch circular central display running Mini OS 9, packed with advanced features such as a personal voice assistant, navigation, and games.
It also comes equipped with ambient lighting, push-button start, Mini Digital Key Plus smart access, auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, electrically adjustable sports seats with memory function, wireless charging, a head-up display, a Harman Kardon 10-speaker audio system, and a dashcam.
Under the hood, the Mini Cooper SE is powered by a front-mounted electric motor, generating a maximum output of 215 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque. It can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and has a top speed of 170 km/h.
The electric motor draws its energy from a 54.2 kWh NMC (nickel-manganese-cobalt) battery pack, enabling a range of up to 402 kilometers on a single charge.
The Mini Cooper SE supports both AC slow charging at 11 kW and DC fast charging at 95 kW. With fast charging, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes.
In terms of safety, the Mini Cooper SE is equipped with ADAS driver assistance features, including automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, Parking Assistant Plus, a 360-degree camera, and a remote 3D view function accessible via a smartphone.
In Malaysia, the Mini Cooper SE is priced from $41,500 (approximately 1.052 billion VND). Following its launch in Malaysia, the model is expected to be introduced in other Southeast Asian markets, such as Thailand.
