The latest electric car models boast an impressive range of up to 500-600 km on a full charge.

However, consumers are now demanding more than just range; they also want faster and quicker charging times.

Here are the top 10 electric cars with the fastest charging times, as chosen by ThisIsMoney:

Zeekr 001 2024

Zeekr is an electric car brand by Geely, and the 001 is its first model. The 2024 Zeekr 001 is equipped with a super-charging CATL Shenxing 95 kWh battery, capable of charging from 10% to 80% in just 11 minutes and 28 seconds, adding 473 km of range.

This feat is achieved through the use of the Zeekr V3 supercharger (600 kW) in an ambient temperature of 26°C. The peak charging power reaches 546.4 kW.

When charging from 10 to 35% battery, the Zeekr 001 maintains a charging power of over 540 kW, adding 264 km of range in 5 minutes and 432 km in 10 minutes.

The Zeekr 001 was launched in February and deliveries began on March 1st. It is a significant upgrade from its first generation in 2021, with improvements including a new platform and advanced ADAS capabilities. The ADAS is enhanced by the addition of a roof-mounted Ladar.

Most impressively, the car utilizes the new Zeekr 800V platform, with a wheelbase that is 6 mm longer than its predecessor, measuring 3,005 mm. This 800V structure enables such rapid charging.

Only the 4WD We version of the Zeekr 001 is equipped with the Shenxing 95 kWh battery – a lithium iron phosphate battery from CATL. All other versions feature the Kirin NCM 100 kWh battery (also from CATL).

Audi e-tron GT

The Audi e-tron GT is a sleek and powerful electric sedan, boasting an output of up to 637 horsepower and accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds.

To cater to the demands of its users, Audi has upgraded the charging technology in the S e-tron GT, RS e-tron GT, and RS e-tron GT Performance models from 270 kW to 320 kW. As a result, these electric cars can charge from 10-80% in just 18 minutes. The Audi e-Tron GT offers a maximum range of 603 km on a full charge.

Porsche Taycan

The Taycan is a stunning electric sports car from Porsche, known for its good range and exceptional performance.

With its 320 kW charging technology, the Taycan can charge from 10-80% in just 18 minutes.

Maserati GranTurismo Folgore

As the first electric car from the Italian brand, the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore impresses not only with its stylish exterior but also with its three-motor powertrain, delivering up to 818 horsepower.

Thanks to its impressive power, the GranCabrio can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 290 km/h. More importantly, it is expected to offer a WLTP-rated range of up to 447 km.

According to the manufacturer, with DC fast charging at 270 kW, the GranCabrio Folgore can add 100 km of range in just 5 minutes, and it takes only 18 minutes to charge from 10-80%.

Porsche Macan

The Porsche Macan EV matches the impressive charging speed of the Porsche Taycan.

With a 270 kW charger, the Macan can charge from 10-80% in just 21 minutes. When fully charged, this electric SUV offers a maximum range of 613 km.

Tesla Model Y

The Tesla Model Y is renowned for its fast charging capabilities. Notably, the Performance and Long Range AWD versions can be charged at super-fast DC 250 kW stations.

Both versions can add 241 km of range with just 15 minutes of charging, and it only takes 27 minutes to charge from 10-80%. 

Tesla Model 3 Long Range

The Tesla Model 3 Long Range also supports fast charging at 250kW stations.

It can add 282 km of range in just 15 minutes of charging and achieve a 10-80% charge in 27 minutes. This version offers a maximum range of 680 km.

Polestar 3

The Polestar 3 is a Swedish-made electric SUV owned by Volvo, boasting a range of over 500 km.

It supports fast charging at DC 250kW stations, enabling it to charge from 10-80% in just 30 minutes.

Kia EV6

The Kia EV6 is built on the same platform as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and stands out with its unique and beautiful design. It is one of the most aesthetically pleasing electric cars on the market today, featuring a minimalist, stylish cabin and innovative powertrain.

The Kia EV6 offers a maximum range of 528 km and supports fast DC charging at 235 kW, allowing it to charge from 10-80% in just 20 minutes.

Kia EV9

The Kia EV9 is a large electric car developed on the E-GMP platform, which is dedicated to electric vehicles from the Hyundai Group, similar to the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Hyundai Ioniq 6.
