An American car enthusiast boasts an impressive collection of over 100 cars, including more than 20 hypercars and megacars.
Gumball 3000 is a supercar rally first organized in 1999. Each rally attracts hundreds of supercars and spans multiple days and countries. This year, Gumball 3000 has chosen Ho Chi Minh City as its starting point to promote Vietnam to the world.
According to the organizers, the 25th Gumball 3000 rally will commence on September 14 in Ho Chi Minh City, traverse prominent Southeast Asian cities such as Phrom Penh, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur, and culminate in Singapore on September 22.
Recently, a well-known American car collector, Dan Kang, revealed that he will be bringing his Koenigsegg Regera to Vietnam for the Gumball 3000 2024 event. Dan Kang is a renowned car enthusiast with a global reputation. His collection boasts over 100 cars, including more than 20 hypercars and megacars. Notable mentions from his collection include the Lamborghini Centenario (limited to 20 units), Pagani Huayra BC (limited to 40 units), Bugatti Chiron, Koenigsegg Agera Thor, McLaren Speedtail, and Ferrari LaFerrari, among others.
Focusing on the Koenigsegg Regera that will soon be gracing Vietnam for the world’s most prominent supercar rally, this masterpiece stands out with its carbon fiber body. The Regera’s design is striking and distinctive, featuring the trademark 180-degree opening doors that set it apart from other supercars. Additionally, the Regera is unique in that it forgoes a traditional gearbox. Instead, it utilizes a direct-drive transmission structure, reducing energy loss by 50% compared to conventional gearboxes.
Under the hood, the Koenigsegg Regera is powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.0L V8 engine that produces 1,100 horsepower. Combined with three electric motors, the car delivers a total output of 1,500 horsepower. This formidable power plant enables the Regera to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 400 km/h.
