A series of benefits for VinFast car owners under the campaign “Fierce Vietnamese Spirit – For a Green Future” took effect on July 1st, enhancing the experience of VinFast electric vehicle users while also saving them daily expenses.

As a result, from now until July 1st, 2025, VinFast’s electric car lines will be able to charge for free at V-GREEN stations. In addition, owners of VinFast electric cars will be exempt from parking fees (for less than 5 hours) and given priority parking at all locations within the Vingroup ecosystem until July 1st, 2026.

Many users have taken to social media to show off their zero-dong electricity bills. “My fellow drivers are so happy,” and “I’ve been charging for free since last night and I’m still floating…” are some of the comments from the VinFast electric car community after experiencing this incredible benefit.

“To summarize my experience with VF 5 Plus: ultra-low charging costs, now free, maintenance costs similar to a motorcycle, extremely easy to drive, and convenient vehicle management with the VinFast app. VinFast electric cars are truly my ‘soulmate,’” said Ms. Lưu Anh Thư, a car owner from Nam Định, sharing her overall impression of VF 5 Plus after 9 months of usage.

Some car owners even joked that while charging is now free, they expect their food and hotel expenses to increase due to the likely increase in their electric car road trips, given VinFast’s generous incentives.

Saving up to hundreds of millions of dong per year

Many users calculated that with VinFast’s unprecedented sales and after-sales policies in the Vietnamese automobile market, customers would significantly save on daily electric car usage costs.

“I believe no one is happier than me, a driver for the Xanh SM Platform service in Hanoi,” said Mr. Trần Mạnh Huy, a VF 5 Plus user. With a monthly travel distance of 5,000 km, before July 1st, 2024, Mr. Huy spent about 2.2 million dong on charging (at a rate of 3,858 dong/kWh at VinFast public charging stations) and 2.7 million dong on monthly battery rental. This amount is significantly lower than the fuel cost of about 7.5-8 million dong for the same distance with a gasoline A-SUV model.

“Now that charging is free for a year, I only have to pay for battery rental. In a year, I will spend just over 32 million dong to keep my car on the road. If I were using a gasoline car, I would have spent over 90 million dong, resulting in a savings of almost 60 million dong. Moreover, anyone who buys the battery outright will essentially ‘profit’ 90 million dong in usage costs compared to a gasoline car,” Mr. Huy shared.

In addition to the substantial savings on charging costs, the free parking and priority parking policies also help VinFast electric car users reduce their daily expenses.

For Vinhomes residents, the privilege is even greater as they are offered free parking and charging in Vinhomes parking lots for the next two years.

If they choose to charge at home, residents will receive support from Vingroup for the installation of charging stations at their homes, with a subsidy of up to 10 million dong per station. They will also receive 900,000 dong per month per vehicle for charging costs until July 1st, 2026. VinFast electric car owners living in Vinhomes apartments will also be given priority parking if space is available.
