The all-new Land Cruiser Prado: A Rugged and Refreshed SUV

Toyota has unveiled the highly anticipated Land Cruiser Prado 2025 in Southeast Asia, with its initial launch taking place in the Philippines. This capable SUV is now available in the Philippine market, starting at 4.8 million PHP (~2.1 billion VND).

The new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2025 is built on the TNGA-F platform, shared with the LC300. Its boxy design takes inspiration from the classic J60 model of the 1980s, paying homage to its off-road heritage. However, the Prado 2025 in the Philippines sports a unique grille design compared to its US counterpart, released earlier this year.

The vertical slats on the grille echo the design of the previous-generation Prado J150, and the vehicle proudly displays the Toyota logo rather than the standard “TOYOTA” lettering found in other markets. For a sleek and seamless look, the Philippine-spec Prado features body-colored mudguards and rides on 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 265/50 tires.

Step inside, and you’ll find a cabin adorned with leather upholstery. The driver’s seat is electrically adjustable, and the SUV features ambient lighting for a premium feel. The infotainment system includes a 12.3-inch display, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, along with a 10-speaker audio system.

Under the hood, the Land Cruiser Prado 2025 in the Philippines is exclusively offered with a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, dubbed the T24A-FTS. This potent powertrain delivers 277 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 430 Nm of peak torque at 1,700-3,600 rpm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, sending power to all four wheels.

Like its more luxurious sibling, the Lexus GX, the Land Cruiser Prado boasts a sophisticated 4×4 system with multiple terrain modes and a differential lock for ultimate off-road capability. Additionally, it comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense, ensuring a safe and confident driving experience.
