Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance: An Electrified Powerhouse
On June 22, Mercedes-Benz officially introduced the AMG C 63 S E Performance to Vietnamese consumers through the Star Drive test drive event in Van Phuc Urban Area, Ho Chi Minh City. The Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance is priced at VND 4.9 billion in Vietnam and is imported from Germany in limited quantities.
Nearly a month after its launch, the first Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance has been registered. The luxury sedan now bears the Ho Chi Minh City license plate number 51L-808.99. It is worth noting that this license plate was obtained through an auction, with a winning bid of just VND 40 million.
The Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance is the most powerful and expensive variant of the C-Class sedan range. It is the first Mercedes-Benz model in Vietnam to feature an external charge plug-in hybrid technology. At the heart of this vehicle is a 2.0-liter turbocharged electric four-cylinder engine, complemented by an electric motor at the rear axle, drawing energy from a 6.1 kWh battery pack. The combined output stands at an impressive 680 horsepower and 1,020 Nm of torque. Mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, the car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 280 km/h.
When operating in pure electric mode, the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance can travel up to 15 kilometers, with a maximum speed of 125 km/h.
The AMG C 63 S E Performance incorporates technologies derived from the Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 racing team. Its M139 engine is currently the most powerful four-cylinder engine in the world, handcrafted in Germany by the AMG performance division.
The Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance has dimensions of 4,842 x 1,890 x 1,458 mm (L x W x H) and a wheelbase of 2,875 mm. Compared to the standard C-Class models, it is significantly larger, with an additional 83 mm in length and 76 mm in front width. The wheelbase has also been extended by 10 mm.
As the most expensive model in the C-Class range, the C 63 S E Performance boasts an array of top-tier features from the three-pointed star brand. Specifically, it is equipped with the AMG Carbon Package, which includes a carbon fiber rear spoiler, 20-inch black gloss multi-spoke alloy wheels, and carbon fiber exterior mirror housings.
The Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance is the first model in the C-Class range to feature a large air intake on the hood. The logo has been switched to black. On the sides, it sports sporty side skirts, a large rear diffuser, and trapezoidal twin exhaust tips, contributing to its aggressive and dynamic appearance.
Inside the cabin, the C 63 S E Performance impresses with its extensive use of Nappa leather and embossed AMG graphics. The perforated seats not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also reduce weight and optimize ventilation.
Some of the notable convenience features on the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance include the MBUX infotainment system tailored for AMG E Performance models, comprising a central touchscreen display, a digital instrument cluster, and an optional heads-up display.
