With its advanced capabilities, VinFast’s ViVi 2.0 virtual assistant, powered by Generative AI technology, has impressed automotive and tech experts alike. Not only can it proactively search for and collate information from the Internet, but it also continuously learns and evolves, becoming smarter over time.

“Encyclopedic” ViVi can schedule trips and recommend restaurants

At the launch event of the VF 8 Lux, VinFast’s new virtual assistant was put to the test by two experts from VinBigdata: Professor Vũ Hà Văn, Director of Science, and Mr. Nguyễn Kim Anh, Product Director. This product, developed and core technology-owned by VinBigdata, captured the attention of the tech community.

The experts asked a variety of questions to demonstrate the new virtual assistant’s ability to handle different situations.

ViVi (the new-generation AI assistant featured in VF 8 Lux) aced the experts’ challenges

First, the ViVi assistant was tasked with providing a travel itinerary for a four-day, three-night trip to Nha Trang. ViVi offered a list of suggested attractions and activities for each day. When asked the same question again, ViVi provided a different list of recommendations, showcasing its ability to quickly generate diverse options. This wealth of information gives users a wide range of choices to consider.

To further challenge ViVi, Professor Vũ asked more specific questions, such as, “Where should a family with children go in Nha Trang?”. ViVi promptly suggested kid-friendly places, including VinWonders. It even provided restaurant recommendations for groups with seafood allergies.

Users were excited about the advanced technology features of the VF 8 Lux

These examples illustrate that, thanks to Generative AI, ViVi 2.0 possesses an extensive knowledge base like an “encyclopedia” and can analyze questions and respond with impressive speed and accuracy, rather than simply extracting information from pre-defined scripts. The more users interact with ViVi, the more it learns from the Internet, becoming increasingly intelligent.

“ViVi is a testament to VinFast’s commitment to continuous improvement”

According to Professor Vũ Hà Văn, ViVi 2.0’s intelligence lies in its ability to proactively search for and connect information from the Internet, providing accurate and contextually relevant responses.

With 3,500 TB of characteristic data and over 30,000 hours of high-quality voice data, ViVi 2.0 can easily recognize speech, understand context, analyze scenarios, and provide appropriate feedback. Its command recognition accuracy is twice that of the previous version.

The Generative AI technology expands the virtual assistant’s ability to answer questions across various domains, including vehicle and battery features, charging stations, maintenance policies, travel destinations, restaurant recommendations, horoscopes, trivia, and movie information.

After experiencing the new virtual assistant in the VF 8 Lux, automotive experts were surprised by the vehicle’s intelligence, enhanced by Generative AI.

“I’ve tested virtual assistants in many cars and on different screens, but none are as smart as ViVi. It feels more human-like and can answer a wide range of questions, not just follow pre-set commands,” said Lê Mạnh Linh, a well-known automotive reviewer (Mê Xe), after trying out the new assistant.

ViVi’s superior intelligence impressed experts and KOLs alike

“Interacting with ViVi is like having a conversation with a companion in the car, which helps me stay focused while driving,” he added.

Mr. Linh mentioned that he rarely used virtual assistants while driving in the past. However, he believes that the Generative AI-powered assistant will change this habit, as the new technology makes conversing with the vehicle much easier and more accessible.

Automotive expert Chu Hữu Thọ, owner of the Autobikes channel, shared a similar view, calling the virtual assistant a breakthrough upgrade on the VF 8 Lux. As one of the first owners of the VF 8, he appreciated VinFast’s commitment to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. The integration of Generative AI in ViVi is a testament to that.
