A set of images circulating on social media has captured the attention of many. The images feature a $3 million Ferrari F40 suspended from the ceiling of a house, resembling a unique chandelier.
This extraordinary “chandelier” was shared on social media by the Alfa Romeo enthusiasts’ club, Club Alfa. The Ferrari F40 is suspended from the ceiling by four ropes attached to the rear wings and several points under the hood. When the supercar’s headlights are turned on, the room is illuminated, creating a distinct and luxurious ambiance.
This Ferrari F40 was manufactured in Maranello, Italy, with a starting price of $400,000. Only 1,315 F40s were produced, and only 213 were allocated for the US market. Consequently, the Ferrari F40 quickly became one of the most expensive sports cars in the world, with well-maintained examples fetching up to $2.6 million.
It is unclear if this “chandelier” Ferrari F40 has had its internal components removed. The Italian supercar weighs approximately 1,369 kg, depending on the equipment. The 2.9L twin-turbocharged V8 engine and 5-speed manual transmission are not lightweight. This powerful V8 engine produces 477 horsepower, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds, cover a quarter-mile in 11.7 seconds, and reach a top speed of 203 mph. However, when suspending the Ferrari F40 from the ceiling, the homeowner had to install an external power switch to provide energy to the car.
