Toyota Vietnam Automotive Company officially announces its business results and outstanding activities in the first 6 months of 2024.
This is the result of efforts to promote production and business activities while actively contributing to the community in various fields.
Toyota’s performance from January – June 2024
In terms of sales, Toyota Vietnam topped the passenger car market with sales of 23,025 units in the first 6 months of 2024 (including Lexus), bringing the total accumulated sales to over 939,000 units. In terms of production, Toyota produced 11,224 units, bringing the cumulative output to nearly 700,000 units.
In terms of services, Toyota welcomed more than 937,000 customers, an increase of 8% compared to the same period in 2023, bringing the total number of vehicles using official Toyota services to nearly 19 million.
Toyota’s component and spare parts export activities generated revenue of nearly $29 million, with cumulative revenue exceeding $892 million.
In terms of state budget contribution, Toyota Vietnam contributed over $117 million in the first 6 months of the year. The total state budget contribution has accumulated to over $13 billion.
Efforts to contribute to the Vietnamese automotive and supporting industries
Continue to deliver “Ever-better Cars”
In May 2024, Toyota Vietnam officially introduced the improved versions of the Corolla Cross model, offering superior technology and convenience upgrades for users. At the same time, the Hilux pickup truck model also returned to the market, promising to bring strength and versatility to customers who love this line.
Over the years, Toyota’s products have been constantly improved and received the trust and welcome of customers. In the first 6 months of the year, the Vios and Yaris Cross models were among the top 10 best-selling models in the market, with sales of 4,215 units and 3,750 units, respectively. In addition, most of Toyota’s models are among the best-selling models in their respective segments.
Actively accompany supporting industry enterprises, contributing to the development of the automotive industry
Toyota continues to cooperate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade for the 5th consecutive year to accompany automotive supporting industry enterprises with the goal of improving capacity and strengthening links between domestic supporting enterprises and automotive assemblers, thereby increasing localization rate.
Currently, the list of Toyota suppliers has reached 60, including 13 Vietnamese suppliers, with a total of nearly 1,000 localized products.
Efforts to accompany for “a better society”
Developing the Multi-Pathway Approach Project
Towards the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050, Toyota has developed the Multi-Pathway Approach to reduce carbon emissions by offering diverse solutions that suit different conditions in terms of infrastructure, industry status, and customer needs in different regions. Globally, Toyota provides various electrification solutions such as Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid, Battery Electric Vehicles, Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles, etc., while also developing different alternative energy options and fuel-efficient technologies to meet the diverse needs of customers.
According to Toyota’s perspective, Hybrid and biofuels are timely solutions that suit the reality in Vietnam, helping to reduce CO2 emissions immediately without waiting for infrastructure development or changing user habits.
In the first 6 months of 2024, Hybrid vehicle sales reached 1,682 units with a range of 6 Hybrid models across multiple segments. As of now, a total of 10,156 Toyota Hybrid vehicles have been sold in the 4 years since its introduction in the Vietnamese market.
Sharing the same goal and orientation, Vinasun signed a cooperation agreement to become the first taxi company to use Hybrid vehicles in the passenger transport business in Vietnam, with a plan to invest in 2,000 Toyota Hybrid vehicles in 2024 and 2025. This is a long-term development strategy of the two sides towards the goal of providing the best experience for customers and positively contributing to the creation of a clean and safe transportation system.
Maintain annual social contribution activities in various fields
Besides production and business activities, Toyota still carries out annual social contribution activities in 4 fields: Traffic Safety, Environmental Protection, Social Culture, and Education & Human Resources Development, with the desire to bring a better life to the community and contribute to the sustainable development of the country.
In the first 6 months of the year, Toyota launched and implemented many activities such as: Toyota Traffic Safety Program, Traffic Safety Initiative Contest, Drawing Contest – My Dream Car, U9 Toyota Cup National Football Tournament, etc. As of now, the total amount of money contributed by Toyota to social activities has amounted to over $30.8 million.
Recognizing these excellent achievements in business and social contribution, Toyota Vietnam is honored to be among the Top 50 FDI enterprises awarded the Golden Dragon Award in 2024. This is the 21st time the company has received this prestigious award.
