According to Motor1, Ford has issued a full recall of the 2024 Mustang in the United States due to a potential fluid leak in the clutch pressure line, which could lead to fire hazards. This recall affects approximately 8,161 Mustang vehicles.
In late April this year, two separate fire incidents involving the 2024 Ford Mustang MT prompted an investigation by local authorities and Ford’s assessment team. The root cause was traced back to the engine compartment, specifically the clutch system, in both cases. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or casualties in either incident.
The recall report indicates that the wires near the exhaust system can melt due to high temperatures, causing brake fluid to leak from the clutch system. When this happens, the driver may be unable to shift gears, leading to engine stalling and increased heat under the hood, resulting in smoke and potential fires.
Owners of the affected Ford Mustang vehicles will receive individual recall notices via email starting June 17. They can then take their cars to local dealers for free inspections and repairs by trained technicians.
