For August 2024, Toyota and Honda are offering attractive discounts on their small MPV models: the Toyota Veloz Cross, Toyota Avanza Premio, and Honda BR-V. The Japanese automakers are providing a 50% reduction on registration fees for these vehicles, mirroring similar offers from the previous month.
Honda customers purchasing the BR-V can save up to VND 33 million on the G trim and VND 35 million on the L trim. This promotion is valid for customers who sign a purchase contract and complete their payment between August 5 and August 31, 2024. The discount will be based on a 10% registration fee.
Toyota, on the other hand, is offering a more comprehensive deal for its Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio models. In addition to the 50% registration fee discount, they are also providing a special interest rate of 4.99% per year. The maximum support for the Veloz Cross is VND 32 million for the CVT trim and VND 33 million for the CVT Top trim. For the Avanza Premio, the respective figures are VND 28 million for the MT trim and VND 30 million for the CVT trim.
Toyota’s promotion will run from August 1 to August 31, 2024, and is applicable to all customers who purchase a vehicle and complete their full payment during this period.

Of the three models, the Toyota Veloz Cross has the highest sales figures. In the first six months of this year, it sold a total of 2,767 units, ranking second in its segment after the Mitsubishi Xpander (7,773 units). Following the Veloz Cross are the Honda BR-V with 1,552 units sold and the Toyota Avanza Premio with 927 units.
The Veloz Cross’s strong sales can be attributed to its association with a trusted brand, its sporty and rugged SUV-inspired MPV design, and its comprehensive safety and convenience features, all at a wallet-friendly price ranging from VND 638 million to VND 660 million.
While the Toyota Avanza Premio is more affordable, with a price range of VND 558 million to VND 598 million, its less impressive design and lack of advanced ADAS safety features may be contributing factors to its lower sales performance.
Both the Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio are powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 105 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with either a continuously variable transmission (CVT) or a manual transmission, depending on the model.
The Toyota Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio are both locally assembled in Vietnam.
On the other hand, the Honda BR-V has a significantly higher price tag, ranging from VND 661 million to VND 705 million. However, it makes up for this with its stylish SUV-inspired MPV design and standard ADAS safety features.
Under the hood, the BR-V boasts a 1.5L i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine that delivers 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive.
The Honda BR-V is a fully imported model from Indonesia.
