On August 1, 2024, VinFast officially handed over the first VF 3 cars to customers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, earlier than initially planned.
This has created a strong momentum for the plan to deliver a minimum of 20,000 VF 3 cars by the end of this year.
The first batch of cars was delivered by VinFast to the earliest depositors out of nearly 28,000 orders received just 66 hours after the May 2024 sale.
Handing over the cars so soon, just under 3 months after receiving deposits, not only demonstrates VinFast’s superior production capacity and process optimization capabilities but also affirms its strong commitment to bringing Vietnamese consumers a modern, stylish, and affordably priced electric car.
The VF 3 is VinFast’s first small-sized urban electric car, designed with 2 doors and a square, robust, and stylish shape. The car offers a diverse range of colors, including 4 basic and 5 advanced colors, and allows customers to freely choose their favorite paint color for just VND 15 million.
With dimensions of 3,190 mm in length, 1,679 mm in width, and 1,652 mm in height, the VF 3 has a compact and dynamic appearance, suitable for all operating conditions. Its interior space comfortably accommodates 4 passengers, thanks to its long wheelbase of 2,075 mm. The 16-inch alloy wheels raise the ground clearance to 191 mm, allowing the car to navigate various terrains with ease.
The VinFast VF 3 is equipped with a battery that enables a maximum range of 215 km on a single charge. The fast-charging time from 10% to 70% takes only 36 minutes. The electric motor delivers a maximum output of 30 kW and a peak torque of 110 Nm, combined with a rear-wheel drive (RWD) system, resulting in a 0-50 km/h acceleration time of 5.3 seconds.
Despite being a miniSUV, the VF 3 is fitted with a large 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a gear shift lever behind the steering wheel, similar to those found in luxury cars, providing a convenient and impressive experience for users. The car is also equipped with an airbag for the driver, front disc brakes, and safety technologies such as ABS, emergency brake assist, and hill-start assist.
The price of the VF 3 with a battery rental option is VND 240 million, while the price with a battery purchase option is VND 322 million. For battery rental, customers only need to pay a monthly fee of VND 900,000 for a distance of less than 1,500 km/month, VND 1,200,000/month for a distance of 1,500 – 2,500 km/month, and VND 2,000,000/month for a distance of over 2,500 km/month. The car comes with a manufacturer’s warranty of up to 7 years or 160,000 km (whichever comes first), while the high-voltage battery is warranted for 8 years with unlimited mileage.
Speaking at the handover ceremony of the first batch of VF 3 cars, Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, General Director of VinFast Vietnam Market, said, “VinFast is deeply grateful and overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response from customers across the country for the VF 3. This has been a great motivation for the entire VinFast team to work tirelessly over the past time to perfect the product and enhance production capacity to deliver cars to customers starting today. VinFast hopes to continue receiving the support and trust of a large number of customers in the future, thereby officially making VF 3 the national electric car for everyone.”
According to the plan, following the first batch, VinFast will sequentially deliver VF 3 cars to pre-ordered customers at showrooms and distributors nationwide. It is expected that in 2024, VinFast will be able to deliver a minimum of 20,000 VF 3 cars to customers.
