Mercedes-AMG Unveils the GT 63 Pro 4Matic+: A New Sports Coupe with Enhanced Performance
At the recent Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK, Mercedes-AMG unveiled its new sports coupe, the GT 63 Pro 4Matic+. Built upon the foundation of the GT 63, this new model boasts increased power and promises an extremely thrilling driving experience.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro is designed with optimized aerodynamics in mind. The front end has been refined, featuring massive air intakes on both sides. It is also equipped with an active AirPanel system, reducing air lift by nearly 30 kg.
The rear of the car stands out with a large wing placed on the trunk lid, similar to the AMG One. Additionally, it features a carbon fiber aerodynamic body kit, including a front splitter, a rear diffuser, and air vents on both sides of the wheel arches.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro boasts 21-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 5 or Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires. Even more impressively, it is fitted with the largest ceramic brake system AMG has ever offered, measuring 16.5 inches, along with six-piston brake calipers.
Inside, the GT 63 Pro features AMG Performance seats and a sports steering wheel. It also comes with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch infotainment system.
Powering the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 603 horsepower and 849 Nm of torque. Compared to the standard GT 63, this model offers an additional 26 horsepower and 50 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, enabling the coupe to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in just 3.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 317 km/h.
To support the V8 engine in maximizing its power, the car is equipped with two additional radiators for improved cooling and racing performance. This sports coupe also features active transmission cooling and differential coolers for the front and rear axles.
The designers have fine-tuned the underbody and brake ducts to “optimize airflow to the brakes, increasing durability and preventing overheating.” Similar to many other sports cars, the GT 63 Pro is equipped with active cruise control and active rear-axle steering.
Michael Schiebe, Chairman of the Management Board of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, stated, “If you not only want to enjoy your AMG GT on regular roads but also experience speed on the race track, the GT 63 Pro is the ideal choice.”
“The unique combination of performance and practicality in the GT 63 Pro makes it a perfect addition to our AMG GT family, a line-up that has much to offer for sports car enthusiasts,” he added.
