Honda has recently unveiled the mid-life cycle update for the Honda Civic RS.
The compact sedan now boasts dimensions of 4,681 x 1,802 x 1,415 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,733 mm. Compared to its predecessor, the 2025 Civic has slightly increased in length and wheelbase by 3 mm and 2 mm, respectively. The RS variant features a smaller fuel tank capacity of 40 liters, compared to the 47 liters found in the EL+ trim.
The 2025 Honda Civic RS sports an exterior design identical to the concept showcased at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024. It features a more aggressive-looking front bumper, along with 18-inch black alloy wheels that give the car a robust and muscular stance.
In terms of interior, the RS trim adds a splash of red stitching on the dashboard and a leather-wrapped aluminum gear knob, while the rest of the cabin remains unchanged.
The RS variant also benefits from two additional driving modes – Sport and Individual – on top of the standard settings.
Under the hood, the 2025 Honda Civic RS continues to be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, producing 180 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque. The RS is the only Civic model in the Japanese market to offer a 6-speed manual transmission, while other variants are equipped with a CVT.
In addition to the manual gearbox and clutch, the new Civic RS also features rev-matching technology, which adjusts engine rpm and utilizes a lighter flywheel for an enhanced driving experience.
Furthermore, Honda has tuned the suspension to be firmer, optimizing the car’s handling and delivering a more engaging driving feel.
At the moment, the 2025 Honda Civic RS has been introduced exclusively in the Japanese market. Customers in other regions may have to wait a while longer for its arrival.
