For the month of August 2024, Honda is offering promotions on several of their vehicles, including the HR-V. As part of this promotion, the compact SUV will have a 50% discount on registration fees.

The Honda HR-V currently has three versions, with prices ranging from 699 million to 871 million VND in the Vietnamese market. This means that the promotion on registration fees will be worth approximately 35 to 43 million VND, depending on the version chosen.

This promotion will be applicable to customers who sign a purchase contract and complete the full payment process between August 5, 2024, and August 31, 2024. Additionally, the registration fee promotion will be based on a 10% rate.

It’s worth noting that the Honda HR-V is not the only compact SUV offering promotions this August. Toyota is also providing a 50% discount on registration fees and a special interest rate of 4.99% per year for the Yaris Cross. The registration fee discount for the Yaris Cross will not exceed 33 million VND for the standard G version and 38 million VND for the Hybrid version. This promotion is valid from August 1, 2024, to August 31, 2024, for all customers who purchase the vehicle and complete the full payment.

After a strong growth phase earlier this year, sales of the Honda HR-V have declined in recent months. In June 2024, 237 units were sold, reflecting a 121.4% increase. However, for the first six months of the year, a total of 2,434 units were sold, placing it fifth in its segment, just above the Toyota Corolla Cross, and below the Mazda CX-3 and CX-30.

One disadvantage of the Honda HR-V is its relatively high price compared to competitors in the same segment, such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Mitsubishi Xforce, and Toyota Yaris Cross. Additionally, as the vehicle is imported from Thailand, supply may not be as stable as that of domestically assembled competitors.

On the upside, the Honda HR-V boasts a reputable brand, eye-catching design, spacious interior, adequate convenience features, and notably, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) as standard.

Moreover, the Honda HR-V is highly regarded for its driving experience. It offers two engine options: the standard version is equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. The other two versions feature a 1.5L turbocharged gasoline engine that delivers an impressive 174 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque.

According to some sources, Honda is planning to introduce an upgraded version of the HR-V later this year. Prior to this, the new version of the vehicle had its industrial design registered for protection in Vietnam.
