To stay competitive in the fierce NEV market, Chinese automakers are diversifying their product offerings, including an expansion into the wagon segment.
Neta, a brand under Hozon Auto known for its affordable and youthful models, is joining this trend by introducing the Neta S Wagon, an extended version of its popular electric sedan, the Neta S. As the official launch of the Neta S Wagon approaches, spy shots of the vehicle have surfaced on social media, suggesting that the car has already arrived at dealerships.
Up-Close Look at the Neta S Wagon Ahead of Its Launch: Expected Price of VND 488 Million
The Neta S Wagon shares the same front-end design as its sedan counterpart, featuring a bold, forward-leaning nose, sharp split headlights, and a multi-segmented air intake grille. This combination creates a sleek, modern exterior with a sporty feel.
The Neta S Wagon boasts a two-box layout with a sleek, sloping roofline at the C-pillar, enhancing its dynamic and stylish appearance. It sports unique hollow flower-shaped rims, hidden door handles, frameless windows, a duck-tail spoiler, and taillights that stretch across the rear, giving it a distinct sporty aesthetic.
The interior of the Neta S Wagon embodies luxury and technology. It mirrors the sedan version with a full-length LCD dashboard, a large vertical central control screen, and an electronic gearshift lever.
The suede material on the dashboard and center armrest elevates the sense of premiumness, while the carbon fiber-like material on the dashboard adds a sporty touch. Additionally, the Neta S Wagon features a smart 6.6-liter car refrigerator, ideal for long journeys.
The Neta S Wagon has a length of 4980mm, a width of 1980mm, and a height of 1480mm, with a wheelbase of 2980mm. It is 30mm taller than the sedan version, and thanks to its wagon design, it offers more headroom in the second row and increased cargo space.
The Neta S Wagon offers both a range-extended and a pure electric version. The range-extended version integrates a 1.5L gasoline engine and offers options for a 200kW motor or a dual-motor 270kW setup.
The Neta S Wagon will be equipped with either a 31.71kWh or a 43.88kWh battery, providing all-electric ranges of 125 km, 130 km, and 185 km, respectively. The pure electric version includes a single 200kW motor and a dual-motor 370kW variant.
While the original Neta S utilizes the Shanhai 1.0 platform, the wagon will debut on the new Shanhai 2.0 platform, which is expected to launch next year. The Neta S Wagon benefits from enhanced intelligent and comfort features, as well as an 800V charging system for faster charging.
The Neta S Wagon will enter the Chinese market in August with an expected starting price of RMB 150,000 (approximately $20,800), which is equivalent to VND 488 million. Deliveries are anticipated to commence in September. The highest-end model could cost up to RMB 250,000 (around $34,700), or approximately VND 813 million. While it will initially be available domestically, Neta has plans to export this model.
The Neta S Wagon blends the practicality of a wagon with advanced EV technology and performance. Its stunning design, spacious interior, and powerful drivetrain options make it appealing to those seeking a modern, versatile electric vehicle. It presents a compelling alternative to the Nio ET5 T wagon, at a significantly lower price point.
