Kia EV4: The First All-Electric Sedan from Kia
Kia EV4 is the brand’s first all-electric sedan, initially introduced as a concept in late 2023. Recently, the production-ready model has been spotted testing in Germany, indicating that Kia is in the final stages of preparation before its official market launch.
The EV4 is expected to build on the strengths of its EV siblings, the EV6 and EV9, while incorporating Kia’s latest technologies. This includes advanced driver-assistance systems, fast-charging capabilities, and a spacious interior.
The EV4 is likely to utilize the E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform) for electric vehicles, shared with the Hyundai Group. This platform supports battery capacities ranging from 58.3 to 81.4 kWh, offering an impressive range of over 600 km on a single charge.
According to sources, the EV4 is powered by a single electric motor mounted on the front axle, delivering 204 horsepower. Its 0-100 km/h acceleration time is estimated to be between 7.4 and 7.7 seconds, depending on the battery option.
While the exterior design of the production model is expected to remain faithful to the concept, the interior remains a mystery. However, based on Kia’s recent releases, we can anticipate a modern infotainment system with a large touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto integration, premium audio, and over-the-air software update capabilities.
