The Honda Accord is one of the models benefiting from official promotions offered by Honda Vietnam in August 2024. As such, this mid-size sedan from Honda is offered with a cash discount of up to VND 220 million during this month.

With this promotion, the price of the Honda Accord has been reduced from VND 1.329 billion to VND 1.099 billion. This makes it more affordable than its rival, the Toyota Camry. However, compared to the Mazda6 and Kia K5, the Honda Accord still carries a higher price tag.

Honda’s promotional program will be applicable to customers who sign a vehicle purchase contract and complete the full payment between August 5 and August 31, 2024. In fact, this is the fifth consecutive month that Honda has been running this promotion for its D-segment sedan, which also happens to be the model with the highest incentives in the mid-size sedan segment in Vietnam.

Despite the significant price cuts, the Honda Accord has not seen a substantial improvement in sales. In June 2024, only eight units were sold, which, although a 100% increase from the previous month, still placed the model at the bottom of its segment. Cumulative sales for the first six months of this year stood at a modest 48 units. Not only does the Accord lag behind all its rivals in the same segment, but it is also one of the slowest-selling models in the entire Vietnamese market during the first half of the year.

It comes as no surprise that the Honda Accord has been performing poorly in the Vietnamese market. Firstly, its pricing is less competitive, and the fact that only one variant is available offers limited choices to customers. Additionally, there has been a shift in consumer preferences, with Vietnamese buyers no longer favoring D-segment sedans as much as before.

When compared to its competitors, the Honda Accord holds its own in terms of equipment and interior space. It comes equipped with LED lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels, electrically adjustable and foldable mirrors with integrated turn signals, auto-dimming, and auto-fold functions, electric front seats, a digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a sunroof, an eight-speaker audio system, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

The Accord also boasts a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), including a collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, automatic high-beam LED headlights, a lane-keeping assist system, and a lane-departure warning system.

Moreover, the Honda Accord is highly regarded for its driving dynamics. It is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 188 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and offers two driving modes – Eco and Sport.

The latest generation of the Honda Accord has already been introduced in some Southeast Asian markets, such as Indonesia and Thailand. However, it remains unclear whether this new model will be launched in Vietnam.

As for Accord – with the elegance and experiences of a U30 lady, even though she is always praised by everyone, she hides something “difficult to deal with” in the minds of the majority.
