The all-new Toyota Camry is expected to launch in Thailand this October with three variants and a slight price increase.
Toyota Camry, in its ninth generation, was first introduced in November 2023 in the US market. Its youthful design, new engine, and array of modern features quickly captured the attention of customers worldwide. However, it took almost a year for this model to arrive in Southeast Asia, with Thailand being the first country.
According to Auto Life, a reputable automotive magazine in Thailand, the Toyota Camry 2025 will exclusively offer a hybrid powertrain, with three trim levels: HEV, HEV Premium, and HEV Premium Luxury. Meanwhile, the traditional 2.5L gasoline engine from the previous generation has been discontinued.
In global markets, the Toyota Camry 2025 is available with three hybrid engine configurations: 2.0 Hybrid, 2.5 Hybrid, and 2.5 Hybrid AWD.
The standard version is equipped with a 2.0L gasoline engine and an electric motor, delivering 152 horsepower and 188 Nm of torque. The 2.5 Hybrid variant combines a 186 horsepower gasoline engine with a 136 horsepower electric motor, producing 202 Nm of torque. The total output of this powertrain reaches 230 horsepower, paired with an e-CVT transmission and front-wheel drive. The 2.5 AWD model utilizes two electric motors, generating a total of 234 horsepower, along with an e-CVT transmission and all-wheel drive.
The Camry 2025 boasts a much more youthful and modern exterior compared to its predecessor, thanks to Toyota’s new design language. The front of the car is striking, featuring “hammerhead shark”-inspired headlights reminiscent of the Prius.
The interior of the Toyota Camry 2025 has been significantly enhanced. Standard features on this sedan include a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch infotainment screen, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, and more.
Toyota’s popular sedan also comes equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 technology package. This system includes advanced features such as pre-collision warning with pedestrian and vehicle detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure assist, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
With comprehensive upgrades in terms of features, design, and engine options, the Toyota Camry 2025 is expected to have a slightly higher price tag. Following its launch in Thailand, this sedan will soon be available in other Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam.
