Honda Unveils Limited-Edition Star Wars-Themed Monkey Bikes: Only 300 Produced, with Two Landing in Vietnam
Following the success of the Honda Super Cub C125 Disney Limited Edition, CUB House – Honda’s branch in Thailand – has once again collaborated with The Walt Disney Company to launch a special-edition Honda Monkey, inspired by the iconic Star Wars franchise.
The Honda Monkey Star Wars is an exclusive limited edition, with only 300 units produced. It comes in two versions: Dark Side and Light Side, with 150 units each. Each bike features a unique serial number (xxx/150) on its tank, and interestingly, both bikes that made their way to Vietnam bear the serial number 088, but represent the two different versions.
In terms of design, the Honda Monkey Star Wars retains the overall classic look of the standard model. However, it sets itself apart with carbon fiber tank and side covers. The bikes also sport a fresh new livery, achieved through a unique spray painting technique on the side covers.
The Light Side version exudes elegance and sophistication with its blue and white color scheme. The handlebars are wrapped in matching blue rubber, and the black wheels feature a blue glow at night.
On the other hand, the Dark Side version embraces a bolder, more aggressive aesthetic with a black and red livery. Similar to the Light Side version, it also features colored handlebar grips and wheel rims that complement the body color.
Both bikes proudly display their limited-edition status with a serial number sticker on the front tank, along with a prominent “Star Wars” logo on the side.
Aside from these distinctive features, the Honda Monkey Star Wars retains the standard model’s features, including a round LCD speedometer, LED headlight and taillight, and 12-inch front and rear wheels with single-disc brakes. The front wheel measures 120/80-R12 and is paired with an inverted shock absorber, while the rear wheel is 130/80-R12.
Powering the Honda Monkey Star Wars is a 124cc single-cylinder, SOHC, air-cooled engine with electronic fuel injection. Mated to a 5-speed transmission, this engine delivers 9.2 horsepower and 11 Nm of torque.
In Thailand, the Honda Monkey Star Wars starts at 4,800 USD (approximately 120 million VND). Buyers also receive exclusive gifts, including a numbered key chain, a leather jacket, and a replica lightsaber from the Star Wars films. The importer of the two bikes in Vietnam has not yet disclosed the local pricing.
