Geely has recently unveiled its new electric CUV, the Galaxy E5.

Priced between 112,800 and 148,800 Chinese yuan (approximately $16,500 to $21,700), the Galaxy E5 offers a compelling package.

The Geely Galaxy E5 is built on the new GEA platform, derived from the SEA platform. It employs a cutting-edge technology called “cell-to-body integration” (CTB), which optimizes the front-to-rear axle load distribution to a perfect 50:50 ratio. This innovation not only reduces weight and lowers the center of gravity but also enhances rigidity.

With dimensions of 4,615 mm in length, 1,901 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,750 mm, the Galaxy E5 rivals C-segment SUVs in terms of size.

Geely boasts a drag coefficient of 0.269 Cd for the Galaxy E5, and it comes equipped with aerodynamically designed wheels and 235/50 R19 tires.

All variants of the Galaxy E5 are powered by an electric motor producing 215 hp and 320 Nm of torque, enabling it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds.

The vehicle is offered with two battery options: a 49.52 kWh pack and a larger 60.22 kWh pack, providing an impressive range of up to 440 km and 530 km, respectively.

Step inside the Galaxy E5, and you’ll find a spacious and well-appointed cabin. It features a large 15.4-inch central infotainment screen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel, and a head-up display.

The high-end variant takes the experience a notch higher with a 16-speaker audio system and the Flyme Auto system, replicating the smartphone experience. It also includes China’s 7 nm Dragon Eagle One processor.

One of the standout features of the Galaxy E5 is its ample storage space, with a total of 33 compartments, including additional drawers under the rear air vents and another one under the rear seat.
