Toyota Innova Cross Hybrid: A Comfortable and Affordable Taxi Option at 990 Million VND

Vinasun, a leading taxi company in Vietnam, has announced its plan to purchase 2,000 hybrid vehicles from Toyota between 2024 and 2025. The company has chosen to invest in the Toyota Yaris Cross HEV, Corolla Altis HEV, and Innova Cross HEV models, which are among the most expensive options offered by the automaker.

According to the plan, 806 vehicles will be delivered to Vinasun by Toyota Dong Sai Gon by the end of this year.

The Innova SUV, a 7-seater vehicle, is now available in the Vietnamese market in two variants. The HEV version is priced at 990 million VND and boasts a combined engine power of 150 horsepower and 188 Nm from its gasoline engine, along with an electric motor that delivers 111 horsepower and 206 Nm. The vehicle has an impressive fuel economy of 4.92 liters per 100 kilometers.

In Toyota Vietnam’s latest sales report, the Innova Hybrid saw a remarkable surge in sales, with 241 units sold, reflecting a more than 70% increase compared to the previous month. The other two hybrid models chosen by Vinasun, the Yaris Cross HEV and Corolla Altis HEV, are priced at 765 million VND and 870 million VND, respectively.

New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) are gaining traction among taxi service providers in Vietnam. With their low operating costs and competitive pricing, electric and hybrid vehicles are increasingly being adopted by taxi companies as a cost-effective solution for investors.

Xanh SM, a pioneer in the industry, was the first to introduce electric taxis with the VinFast e34 and VF 8 models. Soon after, the company expanded its offerings to include the VinFast VF 5 Plus, the only electric SUV in its segment, providing customers with more options.

The Wuling MiniEV, a compact electric car, has also been gaining popularity among transportation businesses for intra-city trips. With a price range of 239-279 million VND and low operating costs, Let’s Go Taxi in Tuy Hoa, Phu Yen has added the MiniEV to its fleet, offering a convenient and eco-friendly option for passengers.
