On August 8, 2024, a range of new vehicles will be launched in the Chinese market, deemed the luckiest day of the Dragon year. Among them is the highly anticipated BYD SeaL EV 2025.

Ahead of its official launch, the BYD Seal EV 2025 has already arrived at dealerships across China. The model on display features a redesigned interior, a new body color, an 800V high-voltage system, and a host of other improvements. It’s important to note that these are display models and not intended for customer delivery.

Up-close Look at the BYD Seal 2025 at a Dealership Ahead of Its Launch Tomorrow – Not Much Difference Compared to the Model Sold in Vietnam

The new Seal EV, previously revealed through official images, stays true to its initial design. It showcases a new, subtle purple body color and the BYD logo, replacing the ‘Build Your Dreams’ lettering on the trunk lid. There is also an optional LiDAR sensor on the roof, although the display models at dealerships do not include this sensor, indicating it will be available post-launch.

Moreover, the exterior design of the new BYD Seal 2025 remains consistent with the model recently launched in Vietnam last month. It adopts a maritime aesthetic with an X-shaped front end and sleek roofline. The vehicle features distinctive headlights and a single taillight cluster.

The interior of the BYD Seal 2025 has been significantly updated and now closely resembles the SUV BYD Sealion 07 fastback previously launched. It boasts a new orange color scheme, a large floating screen, and glossy black accents.

In contrast to the official images released earlier, the BYD Seal features a four-spoke steering wheel with a rhomboid center. However, the display models retain the older design with a round center and distinct spoke design.

The BYD Seal is a mid-size sedan with dimensions of 4800/1875/1460 mm in length, width, and height, respectively, and a wheelbase of 2920 mm.

This new model utilizes the e-Planform 3.0 Evo architecture, which enables the Seal EV to support an 800V high-voltage system, enhancing charging efficiency.

Additionally, the Seal EV is equipped with a 12-in-1 electric drive system and a 23,000-rpm electric motor, similar to the Sealion 07. The new Seal is also expected to feature the DiSus-C continuously controlled suspension system.

The base model of the Seal features a single rear-axle electric motor, generating 170 kW (228 hp). A more potent variant utilizes an electric motor that produces 230 kW (308 hp).

The range-topping BYD Seal offers an all-wheel-drive system with an impressive output of 390 kW (523 hp). This high-performance sedan is equipped with two battery options: 61.44 kW and 80.64 kW. The CLTC range is estimated to be between 510 and 650 kilometers.
