After being advertised for sale by various showrooms, the “poisonous snake” Dodge SRT Viper ACR has finally found a new owner. Evidence of this is that the car now bears a new license plate.
The Dodge SRT Viper ACR featured in this article was imported into the country around April 2022 through a private import channel. Although it has been residing in Vietnam for almost two years, car enthusiasts rarely had the opportunity to spot this masterpiece on the streets. At one point, the Dodge SRT Viper ACR was advertised by showrooms with a price tag of up to 20 billion VND.
Recently, images of this one-of-a-kind Dodge SRT Viper ACR in Vietnam were unexpectedly circulated on social media. Notably, the car now sports a new license plate, 30M-000.12, whereas it previously bore the plate 51K-980.23. This suggests that the “poisonous snake” may have changed ownership, and the new license plate chosen by the owner is special as it includes the number 12, which is also the car’s serial number.
As of now, this is the second Dodge SRT Viper ACR in the S-shaped country, but it is the first of the fifth generation. Notably, the Dodge SRT Viper ACR featured here is the last generation of Viper ACR produced before it was discontinued in 2017.
This car is a special edition, the Snakeskin ACR Edition, of which only 31 units were produced globally. The Dodge SRT Viper ACR of the fifth generation in Vietnam stands out with its Snakeskin Green exterior – a shade of green reminiscent of a snake’s skin, complemented by black double stripes that extend from the hood to the tail, exuding a bold racing character.
Additionally, the car is equipped with the optional Extreme Aero package, which includes removable components such as lip spoilers and front bumper wind deflectors, a large fixed rear wing made of carbon fiber, a rear diffuser, and a hood vent. This package alone costs $6,900, equivalent to approximately 171 million VND at the current exchange rate.
The Dodge SRT Viper ACR in this article is fitted with multi-spoke alloy wheels, measuring 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear, finished in a dark shade. Accompanying these are carbon-ceramic brakes from Brembo, featuring 391 mm discs with six-piston calipers at the front and 360 mm discs with four-piston calipers at the rear.
At the rear, the Dodge SRT Viper ACR is equipped with LED taillights and a rear bumper diffuser, along with a large fixed rear wing made of carbon fiber. Altogether, the aerodynamic body kit generates an impressive 776 kg of downforce, keeping the car firmly planted on the road.
Inside the cabin, the Dodge SRT Viper ACR’s interior combines leather and Alcantara upholstery with carbon fiber accents to reduce weight. The “poisonous snake” features an 8.4-inch central infotainment screen, a steering wheel with integrated hands-free buttons, and manual brakes.
Powering the Dodge SRT Viper ACR is a naturally aspirated 8.4-liter V10 engine that produces a maximum output of 645 horsepower and a peak torque of 813 Nm. This is mated to a 6-speed manual Tremec TR6060 transmission, offering improved torque rigidity and a higher torque capacity compared to the previous generation. With these specifications, the Dodge SRT Viper ACR can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 332 km/h.
