Earlier this year in January, Haval officially unveiled the new-generation H9 SUV in the domestic Chinese market, featuring an impressive design and impressive equipment worth exploring.
Recently, the official images of the new Haval H9 for overseas markets have been released. This new off-road SUV is expected to go on sale in markets outside of China, starting in early August.
Haval already has dealerships in Vietnam, and with the company’s plan to distribute the H9 in overseas markets, it is likely that this off-roader will soon make its way to the country. There are no significant differences between the Haval H9 sold in China and the international version.
Previously, there were reports that the vehicle had arrived at the Haval Pro dealership in Russia and was expected to go on sale on August 9. The official price has not yet been announced.
According to the Haval dealership, there will be four trim levels offered to consumers, with the base model priced at 4.3 million rubles (360,000 yuan or $50,400). The prices of the remaining three trim levels will be 4,599,000 rubles (54,000 USD), 4,899,000 rubles (57,500 USD), and 5,299,000 rubles (62,200 USD) respectively.
The new Haval H9’s design exudes a classic and boxy style, with a robust and retro appearance. The front features a square grille and retro round headlights designed with parallel lines and studded decorations, creating a unique visual effect. The front end is also equipped with a protective skid plate to safeguard the vehicle in challenging terrain.
On the sides, prominent character lines run the length of the vehicle, while the concave and convex surfaces emphasize the rugged appeal typical of rugged off-roaders. The large, battlefield-style wheel arches reflect the sturdy body, accentuating the characteristics of a robust off-road vehicle.
At the rear, the new Haval H9 resembles a traditional core off-roader, complete with a full-size spare tire mounted on the rear door and vertically arranged taillights.
Additionally, the tailgate maintains the side-opening design. It’s worth noting that the gasoline-powered models are equipped with 17-, 18-, or 19-inch wheels, while the diesel variants feature 18-inch wheels exclusively. Regarding dimensions, the new Haval H9 measures 5,070/1,960, 1,976/1,930 mm in length, width, and height, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm.
In terms of the interior, the new SUV features a modern design, a multifunctional three-spoke steering wheel, and a centrally-mounted 14.6-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system. It also comes equipped with a new electronic gear selector, significantly enhancing the overall aesthetics of the cabin.
Furthermore, the central air vents are positioned below the infotainment screen, and physical buttons are strategically placed in the gearshift area, contributing to an overall sense of solidity.
Under the hood, the new Haval H9 retains the 2.0T+8AT powertrain while introducing a 2.4T+9AT diesel engine option to cater to diesel enthusiasts. The maximum output for the gasoline version is 165 kilowatts, while the diesel variant produces 137 kilowatts.
Additionally, the new towing capacity enhances the vehicle’s off-road capabilities and expands its range of applications. The significant improvement in approach and departure angles further bolsters its off-road prowess. Furthermore, the SUV will be offered with three differential locks (front, center, and rear) and the second-generation intelligent all-terrain control system.
