Sales consultants have recently announced that they are taking deposits for the updated Honda Civic.

The car is expected to be launched in the Vietnamese market as soon as September. Honda Vietnam has stopped importing the current Civic model for sale.

According to dealership information, the 2025 Honda Civic will be imported from Thailand and will be available in three variants. One of these, a hybrid, will be named the e:HEV.

With additional features, the price is expected to be higher than its predecessor. The current Honda Civic is priced between 730 and 870 million VND.

The 2025 Honda Civic in Vietnam will likely offer two engine options.

Firstly, a 1.5L turbocharged engine producing 178 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT transmission.

Secondly, a hybrid system combining an electric motor and a gasoline engine. The electric motor generates 181 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque, while the 2.0L naturally aspirated gasoline engine produces 141 horsepower and 189 Nm of torque. The car uses a front-wheel drive system and an electronic E-CVT transmission.

Unlike typical hybrid vehicles where the electric motor plays a supporting role, the Civic e:HEV RS utilizes the gasoline engine primarily as a generator, with most of the power delivered to the wheels coming from the electric motor.

The car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and has a fuel consumption of just 4 liters per 100 km, making it extremely efficient compared to the 6.3 liters per 100 km of the RS gasoline engine.

In addition to the new powertrain, the 2025 Honda Civic also features some exterior tweaks. The grille is no longer connected to the headlights, and the front air intake has been redesigned.

The RS version sports new 18-inch alloy wheels, while the standard model retains the 17-inch wheels.

The interior of the 2025 Civic remains largely similar to its predecessor but with some technological upgrades. The most notable change is the larger 9-inch infotainment screen, running Google-developed software and integrated with Google services such as Maps, Assistant, and the Play Store. Other highlights include premium leather upholstery, a USB-C port, wireless charging, and a 12-speaker audio system.

The safety suite has been enhanced with the addition of blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
