The Philippines is likely to be the first overseas market for the VinFast VF 3, the electric car that has been creating a buzz in Vietnam recently.

Soon after delivering the first batch of VinFast VF 3 to Vietnamese customers, VinFast confirmed its plans to expand the distribution of this model to overseas markets, with the Philippines as the first destination. On their Philippines fanpage, VinFast posted a video introducing the VF 3, along with the message, “VF 3 coming soon to the Philippines.” Thus, the VF 3 will be the fifth model, after the VF e34, VF 5, VF 7, and VF 9, to join the company’s lineup in this country with a population of about 120 million people.

In fact, it was predicted that the VF 3 would be distributed in overseas markets due to its affordable price, making it a strategic product to help VinFast expand its influence.

The Philippines has been experiencing remarkable growth in recent years. In 2022, the market consumed 352,596 vehicles. In 2023, sales increased by 21.9% to 429,807 units, according to Marklines. The electric vehicle segment in this country is also growing at an extremely rapid pace, with a host of new entrants from the Chinese market. In the Philippines, the VF 3 will compete with several rivals in its segment, including the Wuling Bingo, Baojun YEP, and Jetour Ice Cream EV.

Positioned in the small electric car segment, the VinFast VF 3 has a substantial presence with dimensions of 3,190 x 1,679 x 1,652 mm (length x width x height). The VF 3’s exterior stands out with its bold geometric shapes and sturdy character lines that run from front to back. The car has a compact yet tall and robust design, thanks to its 16-inch alloy wheels, which provide a high ground clearance, making it capable of navigating various terrain conditions.

The VF 3 comes equipped with essential features, such as halogen exterior lights and manually adjustable side mirrors. It impresses with its 10-inch infotainment screen. Some safety features found on this model include anti-lock brakes, emergency brake assist, hill-start assist, front disc brakes, and a driver-side airbag.

The VinFast VF 3 is powered by a rear-wheel-drive electric motor that produces a maximum output of 40 horsepower and a peak torque of 110 Nm. This is coupled with an 18.64 kWh LFP battery pack, providing a maximum range of 215 km on a single charge.
