On August 5, 2024, VinFast announced new incentives for its large-size VF9 electric SUV. Customers who place a deposit from August 5 to August 15, 2024, and invoice before the end of the year will receive a Vinpearl resort voucher worth VND 118 million. This package includes a 6-night stay in a 3-bedroom villa at a 5-star Vinpearl hotel or resorts nationwide.
In addition, during August 2024, the VF9 has another promotion: 2 years of free body and battery insurance, plus financing support for up to 5 years with an interest rate of only 4.8% for the first 2 years. This program is valid until August 31, 2024.
Concurrently, from August 1 to September 30, 2024, customers who place a deposit on the VF9 will be exempt from the VND 60 million battery rental deposit if they invoice before the end of the year.
VinFast VF9 introduces a new incentive worth nearly VND 120 million.
This is on top of the benefits offered under the “Fierce Vietnamese Spirit – For a Green Future” campaign. Specifically, from July 1, 2024, to July 1, 2026, VinFast electric cars will receive free parking (under 5 hours) and priority parking at all Vingroup locations. VinFast electric vehicles will also enjoy free charging at V-GREEN stations until July 1, 2025.
Vinhomes residents who own a VinFast electric car will have the exclusive privilege of free parking and charging at Vinhomes parking lots for the next 2 years. If residents choose to charge at home, Vingroup will support the installation of a charging station at their door, with a subsidy of up to VND 10,000,000 per station, and a monthly charging allowance of VND 900,000 per vehicle until July 1, 2026. VinFast electric car owners residing in Vinhomes apartments will be prioritized for parking spaces if available.
For the VF9 model, VinFast offers additional privileges such as trade-in support and a vehicle buyback commitment throughout the vehicle’s lifetime, 2 years of free charging at V-GREEN stations, a dedicated hotline, and priority service at workshops.
The VinFast VF9 in Vietnam currently offers two types of batteries: SDI and CATL. The price of the VF9 with an SDI battery, excluding the battery, is VND 1.513 billion for the Eco version and VND 1.701 billion for the Plus version. Including the battery, the price of the VF9 SDI is VND 2.013 billion for the Eco version and VND 2.201 billion for the Plus version. Meanwhile, the VF9 with a CATL battery, excluding the battery, is priced at VND 1.589 billion for the Eco version and VND 1.786 billion for the Plus version. The corresponding prices, including the battery, are VND 2.114 billion and VND 2.314 billion, respectively.
For customers who purchase the vehicle without a battery, a monthly battery rental fee applies. The rental cost is VND 1.9 million for distances under 1,500 km/month, VND 6 million for distances between 1,500 and 3,500 km/month, and VND 8.4 million for distances over 3,500 km/month.
Within VinFast’s product range, the VF9 is currently the most expensive electric car, and its battery replacement cost is also the highest. The SDI battery for this E-segment SUV is priced at VND 500 million, while the CATL battery costs VND 528 million.
Both batteries have a capacity of 92 kWh in the Eco version and 123 kWh in the Plus version. The SDI battery enables a range of 423-437 km on a single charge, while the CATL battery offers a range of 580-626 km.
Unfortunately, VinFast does not disclose specific sales figures for the VF9. However, in the first half of the year, VinFast delivered 21,747 electric vehicles to global customers, a growth of 92% compared to the same period in 2023. In the second quarter of 2024 alone, VinFast sold 12,058 vehicles, a 24% increase from the previous quarter and a 26% year-over-year growth.
