Suzuki Ciaz has consistently ranked among the lowest-selling cars in Vietnam, and it’s no surprise that the 2022 models are still sitting on dealer lots.
To clear inventory, a dealership in Central Vietnam is offering a massive discount of up to 95 million VND on the Suzuki Ciaz. The post-discount price for this B-segment sedan is now just 440 million VND, comparable to the base models of competitors like the Hyundai Accent 1.5 MT (439 million VND) and the Toyota Vios 1.5E MT (458 million VND).

Back in June 2024, rumors surfaced in the Vietnamese automotive industry that the Suzuki Ciaz was being discontinued. According to a representative of Suzuki Vietnam, the 2024 model year Ciaz had already been discontinued from import to Vietnam since May. The brand has no plans to resume sales of this model and did not provide a reason for the “death” of the Ciaz. However, low sales are believed to be the main reason for Suzuki’s decision to pull the plug on the Ciaz in Vietnam.
The Ciaz is one of two Suzuki models discontinued in Vietnam, alongside the Ertiga Hybrid. Unlike the Ertiga Hybrid, the Ciaz is a fully imported model from Thailand. As announced by Suzuki in early June 2024, the brand will stop assembling cars at its Thai factory after 2025 and switch to imports. Therefore, the discontinuation of the Suzuki Ciaz in Vietnam was also expected.
The Suzuki Ciaz has been discontinued in the Vietnamese market.
The Suzuki Ciaz was first introduced in Vietnam in 2016 but never gained significant traction. In May 2024, only three units were sold, and in June, there were no sales at all. Cumulatively, in the first five months of 2024, only eight Suzuki Ciaz units were sold in Vietnam.
There are several reasons for the poor sales performance of the Suzuki Ciaz in Vietnam, including an unattractive design that hasn’t been updated for a long time. Additionally, the car only has one trim level, and the pricing isn’t very competitive, starting at 535 million VND.
On the upside, the Ciaz offers a spacious interior thanks to its 2,650 mm wheelbase. It also boasts impressive features such as leather seats, Wi-Fi connectivity, voice control, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and a vehicle ahead movement alert.
Moreover, the Ciaz is equipped with a fuel-efficient and gentle 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 91 horsepower and 130 Nm of torque. The power is sent to the front wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.
