On August 9, 2024, Honda officially announced the launch schedule for the new Civic model in the Vietnamese market. The Honda Civic 2025 will be introduced in Vietnam in October this year.
According to Honda, the new Civic in Vietnam will be available in three versions: G, RS, and e:HEV RS. Among them, the e:HEV RS is a hybrid model that is being introduced in the country for the first time.
The Honda Civic e:HEV RS 2025 is expected to use the same hybrid powertrain as the model sold in Thailand. This powertrain includes a 2.0L 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a maximum output of 141 horsepower and 182 Nm of torque, along with two electric motors. One of the motors functions as a generator, while the other drives the vehicle. These two electric motors contribute 184 horsepower to the vehicle. The Honda Civic e:HEV RS 2025 has a combined output of 200 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque. It also features four driving modes: Econ, Normal, Sport, and Individual.
Meanwhile, the G and RS versions continue to use the same 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine as before, delivering 176 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque. The power is transmitted to the wheels through a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The car features steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and two driving modes: Econ and Normal.
In addition to the new engine, the Honda Civic 2025 for the Vietnamese market also receives subtle exterior design improvements. The car’s highlight is its hexagonal grille and sharper front bumper, which incorporates large, sporty air intakes to improve aerodynamics. It also features darkened taillights and new alloy wheels.
