Honda has recently announced that it is taking deposits for the updated Honda Civic model in Vietnam.
The 11th-generation Honda Civic will be launched in the Vietnamese market in October 2024 with superior performance and a host of improvements in technology, design, convenience, and safety.
Honda Civic 2025 will be imported from Thailand and will be offered in three variants, one of which will be the e:HEV, a hybrid model.
The Honda Civic 2025 in Vietnam will be powered by two engine options.
The first is the familiar 1.5L VTEC TURBO engine that produces 176 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT transmission.
The second, a premium option, features a hybrid powertrain that combines an electric motor and a gasoline engine, generating an impressive 200 horsepower. This model uses a front-wheel drive system and an electronic E-CVT transmission.
Unlike typical hybrid vehicles where the electric motor plays a secondary role, the Civic e:HEV RS utilizes the gasoline engine primarily as a generator, with the majority of the power delivered to the wheels coming from the electric motor.
The car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and boasts a fuel efficiency of 4 liters/100 km, a significant improvement over the 6.3 liters/100 km of the RS gasoline model.
In addition to the new powertrain, the Honda Civic 2025 also receives some exterior tweaks. The grille has been redesigned with a hexagonal pattern, complemented by a sharper front bumper and a large, sporty air intake to enhance aerodynamics. The rear lights have been styled in a dark tone, creating a harmonious and dynamic appearance that accentuates the car’s bold and liberated character.
The new Honda Civic not only elevates design standards but also introduces advanced safety features such as the superior Honda CONNECT telecommunication system on the e:HEV RS and RS variants, active noise cancellation, and a modern personal driving mode on the e:HEV RS version.
All versions of the Honda Civic 2025 continue to be equipped with the advanced Honda SENSING driver-assistance suite, including: Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Automatic High-Beam (AHB), Adaptive High-beam (ADB), Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow (ACC with LSF), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), and Front Vehicle Start Notification (LDN)
The car also features a rear-sensor system and six airbags across all three variants, ensuring the highest level of protection for both occupants and other road users.
With the addition of new equipment, the Honda Civic 2025 is expected to be priced higher than its predecessor. The current Honda Civic is available in Vietnam at a price range of 730 – 870 million VND.
As the trend towards eco-friendly vehicles grows, the introduction of a hybrid model in the C-segment sedan market in Vietnam is a significant step. The Honda Civic hybrid is poised to boost sales and compete fiercely with its rivals, offering a more environmentally friendly option without compromising performance.
Hybrid vehicles also provide a more positive experience compared to their gasoline counterparts, reducing emissions and noise pollution. The assistance of the electric motor delivers smoother and more responsive acceleration, and the car can even operate purely on electric power without the range anxiety associated with fully electric vehicles.
