According to sales data released by the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association, along with VinFast and TC Motor, the domestic automotive market witnessed significant growth in July. This is evident from the list of the top 10 best-selling cars, as the average sales volume showed a substantial increase compared to June, and only 3 models had sales figures below 1,000 units.

Surprisingly, the VinFast VF 5 Plus took the top spot, with sales of nearly 2,600 units, according to the Vietnamese automaker. VinFast typically announces sales results quarterly, but the impressive performance of this electric compact SUV in July prompted the company to share its achievement.

The second position was held by the Mitsubishi Xforce, with sales of 1,748 units, an impressive 84.4% growth compared to June. If VinFast had not disclosed the sales figures of the VF 5 Plus, this subcompact SUV would have been the best-selling model in the market.

Toyota Vios secured the third spot, with a remarkable 129% sales growth, totaling 1,745 units. This impressive performance was likely driven by attractive promotional programs offered by the manufacturer, enabling the Vios to surge ahead in the sales race and surpass the Hyundai Accent in July.

Ranking fourth was the Mitsubishi Xpander, with 1,492 units sold in July, a 20.7% increase compared to the previous month. This popular MPV usually ranks within the top 3 best-selling cars in Vietnam on a monthly basis, but it too was outperformed by the models mentioned above.

Following closely was the Ford Ranger, which held the top position in the market for June. The American pickup truck recorded sales of 1,276 units in July, a slight decrease of 11.5% but still maintaining its lead in the pickup segment.

Similarly, the Mazda CX-5 also experienced a sales decline in July, dropping by 17% to 1,044 units. As a result, this C-SUV slipped from its second-place position in June to seventh in July, yet it remains the best-selling model in its segment.

The sixth position in the list of Vietnam’s top 10 best-selling cars for July 2024 was occupied by the Toyota Yaris Cross. Similar to its sibling, the Vios, this B-SUV also witnessed a significant sales growth of 53%, reaching 1,242 units. However, it has yet to surpass the Mitsubishi Xforce to claim the top spot in the subcompact SUV segment.

In eighth place was the Hyundai Accent, with sales of 985 units, a modest increase of 17 units compared to June. Following closely was the Ford Everest, with 951 units sold in July, reflecting a growth of nearly 14.6%.

Lastly, the Toyota Veloz Cross secured the tenth position. This model made a comeback to the list of best-selling cars after several months of absence, with sales of 766 units. Thus, while Toyota did not have a model in the top positions, it still emerged as a winning brand with three representatives in the top 10.
