The Porsche 911 Dakar: A Stunning Display of Automotive Excellence

Only 2,500 limited-edition Porsche 911 Dakar sports cars were ever produced globally, and this particular model is one of just four to arrive in Vietnam. The arrival of the limited-edition Porsche 911 Dakar in Can Tho, adorned in a stunning green hue and bearing the license plate 51K-882.28, has captivated the attention of automotive enthusiasts across Vietnam. This marks the first Porsche 911 Dakar to enter the country in 2024.

With only 2,500 units produced globally, the Porsche 911 Dakar is an exclusive sight. The fourth example to reach Vietnamese shores, this particular model stands out with its light green exterior, and its owner has spared no expense, investing over 100 million VND in acquiring an auspicious license plate.

The coveted license plate, 51K-882.28, was auctioned off in October last year for a staggering 110 million VND. It remains unclear whether the owner of the Porsche 911 Dakar was the highest bidder or if they acquired it through a broker.

Official dealerships in Vietnam are currently offering the limited-edition Porsche 911 Dakar at a starting price of 15.3 billion VND, excluding additional options and on-road costs. All three of the previously imported units found eager owners, with two based in Ho Chi Minh City and one in Hanoi.

One of the standout features of the Porsche 911 Dakar is its increased ground clearance, boasting a 50 mm higher ride height compared to the standard model, with an additional 30 mm available in the High-Level setting, perfect for navigating uneven terrain.

This off-road-oriented mode is activated via a rotary knob on the steering wheel, allowing the Porsche 911 Dakar to effortlessly glide over speed bumps and potholes without scraping its underbelly.

Under the hood, the Porsche 911 Dakar is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, delivering an impressive 473 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque. Mated to an 8-speed PDK automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, and rear-axle steering, this sports car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 240 km/h.
