Images circulating on social media have sparked curiosity, depicting cars parked on Chinese streets with unusually swollen hoods. In some cases, the bloating was so severe that it obstructed the driver’s visibility, rendering the car immobile. This phenomenon, which occurred last year but has only recently gained attention, has left people wondering about the cause.

The images show two Audi cars, one black and one white, with noticeably enlarged hoods, resembling a “baby bump.” A BMW 5 Series car was also spotted with a similar issue.

The mysterious swelling of cars in China has captured the interest of many.

Even more intriguing is the case of a Changan car with purple decals, which appeared to have blistered hoods and doors, drawing sympathy and amusement from netizens. This unusual phenomenon can be attributed to the extreme heat waves in China, affecting cars with decals that are often left parked outdoors by their owners.

The intense heat causes the decals to expand and blister, resulting in the peculiar appearance. It is worth noting that some car beautification shops have embraced this trend, intentionally creating small blisters on decal-covered cars to mimic the “honeycomb” effect. However, they ensure it remains aesthetically pleasing and does not obstruct the driver’s view.

Regardless, it is advisable for all car owners, whether their vehicles have decals or original paint jobs, to find shaded parking spots to protect their cars from the harsh sun.
