The Subaru Crosstrek is a familiar name in international markets, including Southeast Asia. But it wasn’t until the third quarter of this year that this impressive vehicle was introduced to the Vietnamese market. This highly anticipated launch was first revealed by Subaru dealers in the country.

Predictions indicate that the Subaru Crosstrek will make its official debut at the VMS 2024 exhibition in October this year. It is highly likely that this B-segment SUV will be imported directly from Japan, which suggests that the Subaru Crosstrek will carry a premium price tag.

While specific details about the features and specifications of the Subaru Crosstrek for the Vietnamese market are not yet available, we can get a good idea of what to expect by looking at the model currently sold in Indonesia.

The Subaru Crosstrek was introduced to the Indonesian market in 2023 and has since garnered attention.

When compared to other vehicles in its class, the Subaru Crosstrek boasts notably larger dimensions. Specifically, it measures 4,480 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,580 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,670 mm and a ground clearance of 220 mm. This puts its wheelbase on par with the Toyota Corolla Cross and the soon-to-be-launched Haval Jolion in Vietnam.

In keeping with the Subaru brand, the Crosstrek’s design is not overly flashy. It features a large black grille that integrates the Subaru logo and two silver accents that extend to the LED headlights. The headlights are neatly designed and include LED daytime running lights.

A closer look at the front end of the Subaru Crosstrek reveals a bold and distinctive design.

The vehicle also sports a set of two-tone, scratch-resistant, five-spoke alloy wheels, a sloping roofline, an integrated roof rack, and C-shaped taillights. Many exterior details, such as the front and rear bumpers, fog lights, and wheel arches, are finished in black plastic, giving the Crosstrek a robust and rugged appearance.

The rear of the Subaru Crosstrek showcases its sporty and versatile character.

The Subaru Crosstrek’s spacious interior offers ample room for five adults. In the Indonesian market, the Crosstrek is outfitted with leather upholstery, a three-spoke steering wheel with integrated controls, analog gauges paired with a multi-information display, and a vertically oriented 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The vehicle has few mechanical buttons, and the floor is lined with scratch-resistant and non-slip material.

The interior of the Subaru Crosstrek, as seen in the Indonesian market, exudes sophistication and comfort.

Additionally, the B-segment SUV is equipped with the latest generation of Subaru’s EyeSight active safety technology suite. This includes features such as automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure prevention, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane change assist, and a rear cross-traffic alert system that can detect both motorcycles and pedestrians at low speeds.

Under the hood, the Subaru Crosstrek is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that generates a maximum output of 154 horsepower and a peak torque of 196 Nm. This power is transmitted to all four wheels through a Lineartronic continuously variable automatic transmission and Subaru’s renowned symmetrical all-wheel-drive system.

In the Indonesian market, the Subaru Crosstrek is offered in a single fully loaded variant, with a starting price of 549.5 million Rupiah, which roughly translates to 868 million Vietnamese Dong.
