Zeekr Unveils the 2025 Version of its 001 Model
Notably, Zeekr has just released an updated version of its 001 model in late February, only about nine months after the previous version, and now there are three different versions sold this year.
This has caused dissatisfaction among customers who purchased the vehicle in February, as they feel the company is disregarding their interests by releasing a new version every six months.
In response to the backlash, Zeekr’s CEO, Mr. An Conghui, acknowledged the company’s shortcomings in prior communication and pledged that Zeekr products would be announced earlier in the future.
The recently launched mid-life upgrade of the Zeekr 001 focuses primarily on its intelligent driving system.
The vehicle is equipped with the Haohan Intelligent Driving 2.0 and Zeekr OS AI systems, bringing the driving capabilities of the Zeekr 001 on par with the newly launched 007 model.
Zeekr 001, introduced in February, was equipped with an intelligent driving system based on the Mobileye chip. For the mid-life upgrade, the Mobileye chip is retained on the We 95 kWh rear-wheel-drive version, but it is replaced with a dual Nvidia Orin X chip on all other versions. These versions also feature a long-wave Lidar with a 200-meter range and a super-wide 120-degree horizontal viewing angle.
The Haohan intelligent driving system utilizes a large-scale scene perception model (SCM) to enhance target recognition. The system can identify 1,000 new traffic scenarios, and perception accuracy has been improved by over 120%. Using a large-scale interaction planning model (IPM), the system can predict the behavior of surrounding vehicles and pedestrians up to 1.2 seconds in advance, with a 21% improvement in accuracy.
Moreover, Zeekr 001’s newly launched intelligent driving system can handle 30 complex intersection types, achieving a parking success rate of over 95%. Additionally, the finger-controlled parking application allows users to draw a temporary parking space and drag the car icon into it, making parking easier even in tight spaces.
The mid-life upgrade of the Zeekr 001 also integrates Zeekr OS AI, enabling better voice control and smarter suggestions for drivers.
Aside from these upgrades, the Zeekr 001 retains its original exterior and performance.
Powering the Zeekr 001 is an electric motor that delivers 416 horsepower to the rear axle. The 4WD variant features an additional motor on the front axle, producing 362 horsepower. The Zeekr 001 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds.
Zeekr 001 offers two battery options: a 95 kWh LFP battery that provides a range of up to 675 km, and a 100 kWh NMC battery that delivers a range of 705-750 km, depending on the drivetrain.
The new Zeekr 001 utilizes an 800V platform, enabling V2V charging with a maximum power of 60 kW. This means the Zeekr 001 can charge another EV using the power from an average DC charging station.
With the LFP battery, the Zeekr 001 can charge from 10 to 80% in just 11.5 minutes thanks to its 5C system. Meanwhile, with the NMC battery pack, it only takes 15 minutes to charge from 10 to 80% using the 4C system. According to Zeekr, the vehicle can travel 256 km after just 5 minutes of charging.
