C-segment SUV sales table for July 2024 (units: vehicles).

Mazda CX-5: 1,044 units sold

In July 2024, sales of the Mazda CX-5 decreased by 17% to 1,044 units. However, this model remained the best-selling C-segment SUV and ranked among the top 10 best-selling cars in the Vietnamese market last month.

Mazda CX-5

Mazda CX-5

The Mazda CX-5 is currently offered in a total of 7 versions, with prices ranging from VND 749 million to VND 959 million. This model is more affordable than most of its competitors in the same segment, only more expensive than some Chinese products such as the MG HS. Therefore, it is no surprise that the Mazda CX-5 is very popular in Vietnam.

In addition to its affordable price, this car also boasts an attractive design, a full range of convenience and safety features. The Mazda CX-5 is currently available with two engine options: a 2.0L and a 2.5L gasoline engine, producing 154 horsepower/200 Nm and 188 horsepower/252 Nm, respectively. The engines are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive (AWD).

Ford Territory: 737 units sold

Similar to its rival, the Mazda CX-5, the Ford Territory also experienced a sales decline in July. The model sold 737 units, a slight decrease of 1.47%. However, the Ford Territory maintained its second position in the C-segment SUV market.

Ford Territory

Ford Territory

The Ford Territory in Vietnam is offered in 3 versions, with prices ranging from VND 799 million to VND 929 million. In addition, the car has a robust exterior, a modern design, a spacious interior, and excellent equipment.

The Ford Territory is powered by a 1.5L EcoBoost 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 160 horsepower and 248 Nm of torque. The power is transmitted to the wheels through a 7-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Honda CR-V: 574 units sold

As mentioned earlier, the Honda CR-V was the only model to experience sales growth in July. The model sold 574 units, an impressive increase of 82.2%. Among these, 270 units were the hybrid version (e:HEV RS). With these sales figures, the Honda CR-V was the best-selling hybrid model in Vietnam last month.

Honda CR-V

Honda CR-V

This achievement was partly due to the official promotion program offered in July 2024. This month, the CR-V also has a promotion that includes a 100% registration fee discount for the G version and a 50% discount for the L 2WD version. The registration fee discount for these two versions is valued at VND 111 million and VND 58 million, respectively.

The Honda CR-V currently has one of the highest price tags in its segment, ranging from VND 1.109 billion to VND 1.31 billion. Despite the high price, the car does not disappoint in terms of design and features.

In addition, the Honda CR-V offers two engine options. The first is a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 188 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque, paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The second option is a hybrid powertrain, which includes a 2.0L 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 146 horsepower, combined with two electric motors that produce a total of 181 horsepower. Together, the system generates 204 horsepower and 335 Nm of torque.

Hyundai Tucson: 525 units sold

Compared to the previous month, the Hyundai Tucson’s sales in July decreased by 5.2% to 525 units. As a result, the model dropped to fourth place in the segment, overtaken by the Honda CR-V.

Hyundai Tucson

Hyundai Tucson

Since April 2024, the Hyundai Tucson has been offered at a more attractive price, starting from VND 769 million to VND 919 million. In addition to its competitive pricing, this Korean model impresses with its unique design, spacious interior thanks to its large wheelbase, and three engine options.

Specifically, the Hyundai Tucson is equipped with a 2.0L Smartstream 4-cylinder gasoline engine, a 2.0L Smartstream 4-cylinder diesel engine, or a 1.6L 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine. These engines deliver maximum power ranging from 156 to 180 horsepower and maximum torque from 192 to 416 Nm.

The Hyundai Tucson’s engines are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, an 8-speed automatic transmission, or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Depending on the version, the car uses either front-wheel drive or the HTRAC all-wheel drive system.

Kia Sportage: 226 units sold

Following the general trend of the segment, the Kia Sportage also experienced a sales decline in July 2024. The model sold 226 units, an 11.7% decrease, and remained in the second-to-last position in the segment.

Kia Sportage

Kia Sportage

The Kia Sportage currently has the most versions in the segment, with a total of 8, and prices ranging from VND 779 million to VND 999 million. Despite having a price that is not much different from its competitors, this model has not been very popular.

In addition to a design that has been criticized as cluttered, the Kia Sportage also shares the same three engine options as the Hyundai Tucson. This is not surprising, as both models are produced by the Hyundai Motor Group.

Mitsubishi Outlander: 86 units sold

Similar to previous months, in July, the Mitsubishi Outlander maintained its last position in the C-segment SUV market in terms of sales. The model sold only 86 units, a significant decrease of 40.2%. It had the highest sales decline among all models in the segment.

Mitsubishi Outlander

Mitsubishi Outlander

In recent times, Mitsubishi has continuously offered promotions for the Outlander, but the model has not been able to increase its sales significantly. In August 2024, the Mitsubishi Outlander also has a promotion that includes a 100% registration fee support for the CVT version and a 50% registration fee discount, plus one year of physical damage insurance, for the CVT Premium version. The registration fee discount for this model is equivalent to VND 47-85 million. Additionally, a 360-degree camera will be offered as a gift for both versions.

The Mitsubishi Outlander currently has only two versions, with prices starting from VND 825 million to VND 950 million, which is not very competitive. Moreover, the model has not received any significant upgrades in terms of design or features for a long time.

The Mitsubishi Outlander is equipped with a 2.0L MIVEC 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 145 horsepower and 196 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT transmission.
