Suzuki Unveils the New XL7 with Mild Hybrid Engine in Vietnam
Suzuki has officially launched the new XL7 with a mild hybrid engine in Vietnam. As previously speculated, the 2024 Suzuki XL7 in Vietnam is now equipped with a Smart Hybrid Vehicle System (SHVS), combining a gasoline engine with an integrated starter generator (ISG) and a lithium-ion battery. The 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine delivers 103 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque, similar to the previous model. The engine is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission.
According to Suzuki, the ISG converts kinetic energy into electrical energy through regenerative braking, storing it in the battery and assisting with restarting and acceleration for a smoother and more efficient driving experience. This results in improved fuel efficiency and overall performance.
The Suzuki XL7 Hybrid also features Idling Stop technology. The combination of ISG, lithium-ion battery, regenerative braking, and Idling Stop function automatically, resulting in an impressive average fuel consumption of 5.9 liters per 100 kilometers.

In addition to the new engine, the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid sports a refreshed exterior with a blacked-out grille and alloy wheels, adding a bolder touch to its design. At the rear, a chrome trim and a new Hybrid logo on the tailgate further accentuate its hybrid nature.

Other notable features include automatic headlights, Guide Me Light (a path-guiding light function), and new electrically foldable mirrors. The Guide Me Light keeps the lights on even after the car is turned off, aiding visibility when approaching or returning to the vehicle.

The Suzuki XL7 Hybrid 2024 is available in two variants: a single-tone color option and a two-tone color option. The price for the single-tone variant is VND 599.9 million, while the two-tone variant is priced at VND 607.9 million. Suzuki is also offering a VND 5 million discount for customers who previously owned the older model of the XL7.
