The highly anticipated MG7 is set to launch in Vietnam on August 28th.
The vehicle is now available at dealerships across the country, and sales consultants have started taking reservations. However, the pricing remains a mystery.
The MG7 is positioned in the D-segment sedan category and will go head-to-head with competitors such as the Toyota Camry, Kia K5, Honda Accord, and Mazda6. With dimensions of 4,884 x 1,889 x 1,447 mm (LxWxH) and a wheelbase of 2,778 mm, it offers a spacious interior.
The MG7 exudes a sporty and robust aesthetic, complemented by modern design elements. Its striking front end features triangular LED headlights with dual internal strips, alongside side air intakes that enhance its athletic stance. Depending on the configuration, the car will be fitted with either 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels, paired with 225/50 or 245/40 tires.
The rear of the vehicle is equally impressive, boasting a sleek LED taillight assembly, a subtle trunk lid spoiler, and four oval exhaust tips symmetrically divided on both sides. The top-tier variant will feature exclusive black logos on the sides, an active rear spoiler, and a distinctive British Green exterior color option.
Step inside the MG7, and you’ll be greeted by a modern and luxurious cabin that rivals German luxury marques. It boasts a full-LCD instrument cluster measuring 10.25 inches, a prominent 12.3-inch central infotainment screen, and a head-up display.
This D-segment sedan also offers a Topload glass roof, an intelligent Zebra Luoshen 8155 cockpit system, a panoramic sunroof, and a premium 14-speaker audio setup.
Under the hood, the MG7 for the Vietnamese market is expected to offer two turbocharged gasoline engine options. The first is a 1.5L unit mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, delivering 183 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque to the front wheels.
The second, more potent option is a 2.0L turbocharged engine, generating an impressive 254 horsepower and 405 Nm of torque. This variant retains front-wheel drive but adds an electronic limited-slip differential, electronic suspension, and a 9-speed automatic transmission sourced from ZF.
Both versions come equipped with four driving modes: Normal, Eco, Sport, and X-MODE, allowing drivers to tailor the vehicle’s performance to their preferences.
In terms of safety, the MG7 is packed with advanced driver-assistance systems, including a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, lane change assist, intelligent driving assistance with Navigation Guided Pilot, and remote parking capabilities.
