The B-segment SUV market is one of the hottest in Vietnam, with numerous elevated cars priced at around 700 million VND being released. However, there are still plenty of affordable options for local customers, ranging from A-segment sedans and SUVs to B-segment sedans and MPVs.
In this article, Tri Thức – Znews lists some of the most affordable cars on the Vietnamese market. Some of these vehicles have low list prices, while others are currently on promotional offers from the manufacturers.
Electric Vehicle: VinFast VF 5 Plus
The VinFast VF 5 Plus is the only electric vehicle in the A-segment SUV category, and it also has the most accessible starting price.
Currently, the VinFast VF 5 Plus is priced at 468 million VND for the battery leasing option and 548 million VND if the customer chooses to buy the battery. Not only does it have the most affordable list price in its segment, but the VinFast VF 5 Plus also benefits from a 100% registration fee waiver for electric vehicles, applicable until the end of March 2025.

Moreover, according to the latest announcement from VinFast, customers who purchase their electric vehicles – including the VinFast VF 5 Plus – will be able to charge their vehicles for free at V-GREEN stations until July 1, 2025. These incentives make the VinFast VF 5 Plus a very attractive choice in the urban A-segment SUV market.
Previously, VinFast announced that they had successfully sold nearly 5,000 VinFast VF 5 Plus vehicles in Vietnam during the first quarter of the year. This model is a suitable option for those looking to transition to new energy vehicles.
Apart from the VinFast electric vehicle, there are a few other traditional combustion engine options in this size category, namely the Kia Sonet, Toyota Raize, and Hyundai Venue.
In the same period, the Kia Sonet sold 1,889 units, the Toyota Raize recorded a sales volume of 836 units, and the Hyundai Venue achieved a sales figure of 607 units in the first quarter of 2024.
The Hyundai Venue has recently received a price adjustment from TC Motor, with a starting price of 499 million VND. The Toyota Raize is priced at 498 million VND, while the 2024 Kia Sonet has a new selling price ranging from 539 million to 624 million VND. However, during June, the Kia Sonet is offering a discount of 5 million VND, bringing the price down to between 534 million and 619 million VND.
MPV: Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid
Introduced in September 2022, the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid is the only MPV in the affordable category that features a hybrid engine. This model is considered a direct replacement for its predecessor in the Vietnamese market, with list prices of 538 million and 608 million VND, respectively.
Currently, both versions of this budget MPV are being offered with a total incentive value of 89 million VND. After the discount, the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid automatic transmission version is priced at 519 million VND, while the manual transmission version costs 449 million VND.

Thus, the post-discount price of the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid is quite similar to some B-segment sedans and even a few A-segment low-floor cars on the market, such as the Hyundai Grand i10 and Kia Morning. However, this Indonesian-imported MPV offers slightly more advantages due to its spacious interior and fuel efficiency.
The Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid measures 4,395 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width, and 1,690 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,740 mm. The seats can be folded flat, and the maximum luggage capacity of 803 liters makes the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid an excellent choice for optimizing cargo space.
According to the manufacturer, the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid MT achieves a fuel consumption rate of 5.38 liters per 100 km in mixed driving conditions. For the automatic transmission version, the fuel consumption rate is 5.69 liters per 100 km in mixed conditions.
Currently, the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid is the best-selling hybrid electric vehicle in the Vietnamese market, with sales of 1,122 units after five months.

According to Tri Thức – Znews‘s understanding, it is likely that Vietnamese customers will not have many opportunities to own the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid at such a competitive price going forward. At a Suzuki dealership in Ho Chi Minh City, a sales representative shared that they only had the Ertiga Hybrid AT version in silver color available.
“It is still unclear whether the information about the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid being discontinued in the Vietnamese market is accurate. However, at this time, the dealership only has vehicles produced in 2023, and the promotion for this model is valued at 89 million VND,” the sales consultant said.
The salesperson also offered to take a deposit for the hybrid version of the Suzuki XL7, suggesting that the hybrid version of the Suzuki MPV in the small-sized category is likely to arrive at dealerships in August. Currently, Suzuki Vietnam has not confirmed any information regarding the potential discontinuation of the Ertiga Hybrid or the introduction of the Suzuki XL7 hybrid in the Vietnamese market.
Sedan: Mitsubishi Attrage
After the first five months of the year, the Mitsubishi Attrage, along with the Kia Soluto and Suzuki Ciaz, are at the bottom of the sales chart for the B-segment sedan category in Vietnam.
The Mitsubishi Attrage sold 814 units in almost two quarters, equivalent to nearly 163 cars per month, despite being the most affordable sedan in its segment.
Currently, the list price for the Mitsubishi Attrage in the Vietnamese market ranges from 380 to 490 million VND, depending on the version. This starting price is more accessible than the Kia Soluto (386-449 million VND), Mazda2 (408-508 million VND), and significantly lower than other best-selling models such as the Hyundai Accent (439-569 million VND), Toyota Vios (559-609 million VND), or Honda City (559-609 million VND).

Moreover, the Japanese carmaker is offering promotions for the Mitsubishi Attrage during June, in line with similar offers for other models in their lineup.
Specifically, Mitsubishi Attrage customers will receive support for 50% to 100% of the registration fee, depending on the version, along with a shark fin antenna, reverse camera, or one-year physical insurance. With a list price ranging from 380 million to 490 million VND, the total value of incentives for this B-segment sedan ranges from 25 million to 60.5 million VND, depending on the version.
A-Segment Cars
Currently, the A-segment car market in Vietnam consists of only three models: the Kia Morning, Toyota Wigo, and Hyundai Grand i10. All three of these vehicles have list prices starting at less than 360 million VND.
Among them, the manual transmission version of the Kia Morning is the most affordable, priced at 349 million VND. The MT Standard version of the Hyundai Grand i10 hatchback has a list price of 360 million VND, the same as the Toyota Wigo E version.

In this less competitive segment, the Hyundai Grand i10 is outperforming its two rivals in terms of sales. In the first five months of the year, the Hyundai Grand i10 sold 1,889 units, higher than the combined sales of the Toyota Wigo and Kia Morning.
In the same period, the Toyota Wigo sold 987 units in Vietnam, while the Kia Morning entered the last month of the second quarter with a modest cumulative sales figure of 320 units.
Mini Electric Vehicles
The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV was introduced to Vietnamese customers in June 2023, creating a new segment for small electric vehicles and immediately becoming the most affordable car on the market. At its launch, the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV was priced from 239 million to 279 million VND, depending on the version chosen by the customer.
However, the VinFast VF 3 briefly held the title of the cheapest car in Vietnam during its initial booking period, with a list price of 235 million VND (battery leasing) or 315 million VND (with battery purchase). This price was only valid for the first three days of booking before returning to the current range of 240-322 million VND.

Thus, the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV remains the most affordable car on the Vietnamese market in terms of list price. Furthermore, some dealerships have offered discounts of 35-50 million VND, bringing the price of the Wuling MiniEV 120 km Standard LV1 version down to 189 million VND.
Last year, this mini electric vehicle sold 591 units in Vietnam, equivalent to about 10.6% of its sales plan. Due to sluggish sales, TMT Motors – the official distributor of the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV in Vietnam – had to adjust its business plan for this small electric car to 1,016 units in 2024.
On the other hand, the initial price of 235 million VND during the first three days of booking helped VinFast VF 3 attract a total of 27,649 orders. According to VinFast, all deposits for this mini SUV during this period are non-refundable and non-transferable, demonstrating the model’s significant appeal in the Vietnamese market.
According to VinFast’s plan, the first VinFast VF 3 vehicles will be delivered to customers in Vietnam from August onwards. The Vietnamese electric car manufacturer has also confirmed that it will deliver a minimum of 20,000 VF 3 units in 2024.
