Suzuki Vietnam has removed the Suzuki Ciaz, a B-segment sedan, from their website’s lineup of passenger vehicles available in the country. This leaves only the Suzuki XL7, Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid, Suzuki Swift, and the recreational Suzuki Jimny in their current automotive offerings in Vietnam.

However, the Suzuki Ciaz can still be found in the price list section of the website, with a listed price of 535 million VND. But it is likely that Suzuki Vietnam will soon remove it from the price list as well.

The Suzuki Ciaz is no longer featured in Suzuki’s passenger vehicle lineup for the Vietnamese market.

After much speculation, the fate of the Suzuki Ciaz in Vietnam seems to be sealed. This B-segment sedan has consistently been one of the slowest-selling models in the Vietnamese automotive market.

In 2023, the Suzuki Ciaz was among the lowest-selling vehicles in the country, with a total annual sales figure of just 37 units, averaging a little over 12 cars sold per month.

The trend continued into 2024, with the Ciaz managing a meager sales figure of 8 units in the first five months of the year, including a zero-sales month in February.

The Ciaz’s performance pales in comparison to other Suzuki models in Vietnam, with the recently launched Suzuki Jimny, a recreational vehicle, selling 88 units since its launch in March, which is 11 times the sales figure of the Ciaz for the same period.

The future of the Suzuki Ciaz, along with the Suzuki Swift, was already in question after Suzuki announced its decision to close its car manufacturing plant in Thailand by 2025. This decision was made as part of the company’s global optimization strategy to promote carbon neutrality and electrification.

Prior to its removal from the website, the Suzuki Ciaz and Swift were imported from Thailand, while the XL7 and Ertiga Hybrid were sourced from Indonesia, and the Jimny was imported directly from Japan.

In the first five months of 2024, Suzuki’s passenger vehicle group sold a total of 3,178 units in Vietnam, with the XL7 leading the way with 1,752 units sold, followed by the Ertiga Hybrid with 1,122 units.
