Toyota Vietnam (TMV) has issued a recall for nearly 500 Toyota Avanza Premio and Toyota Veloz Cross vehicles to inspect and reinforce the weld points in the floor of these models. All affected vehicles were produced between February 19 and March 21.

Specifically, 50 Toyota Avanza Premio units with the model code W101LE-LBMFVV, 123 Toyota Veloz Cross units with the model code W101LE-LBSFVV, and an additional 290 Veloz Cross units with the model code W101LE-LBVFVV are included in this recall.

According to Toyota, the reinforcement bar is welded inside the vehicle’s floor. In the affected vehicles, the reinforcement bar (left and right sides) may be missing a weld point, which could cause it to detach and affect the vehicle’s structural integrity. This may increase the potential for body deformation in the event of a collision.

Owners of the affected Avanza and Veloz vehicles will be notified and invited to bring their cars to authorized dealers for inspection. Based on the inspection results, the necessary weld points will be added to the Toyota Avanza Premio and Toyota Veloz Cross vehicles. The inspection and repair process is estimated to take between 0.7 and 1.9 hours per vehicle and will be carried out free of charge by Toyota.
