Phantom Scintilla: The Ultimate Expression of Bespoke Luxury by Rolls-Royce
At the 2024 Monterey Car Week, Rolls-Royce unveiled their latest bespoke creation, the Phantom Scintilla, captivating automotive enthusiasts worldwide. This exquisite automobile draws its inspiration from the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy, a symbol that has graced the bonnet of Rolls-Royce vehicles for over a century since 1910.
The Spirit of Ecstasy ornament on the Phantom Scintilla’s bonnet is crafted from ceramic, paying homage to the Nike of Samothrace, a Greek marble sculpture created in 190 BC. The beauty of this ancient artwork inspired Claude Johnson, the first CEO of Rolls-Royce, to create the renowned “Flying Lady” emblem.
The Phantom Scintilla’s exterior boasts a stunning combination of Andalusian White and Thracian Blue, complemented by a white and dark blue coachline. According to Rolls-Royce, this color palette evokes a sense of freshness and is reminiscent of the Mediterranean climate of the island of Samothrace.
Step inside the Phantom Scintilla, and you’ll be greeted by an even more luxurious and unique ambiance. The “starry sky” lighting system features a unique design with soft, flowing lines, mimicking the beauty of movement. The doors and seats showcase intricate hand-embroidery that runs throughout the cabin, utilizing various colors and stitching techniques to create a special effect.
Another highlight of the interior is the “Celestial Pulse” artwork on the dashboard. It consists of seven aluminum “ribbons” intersecting each other, finished in the same ceramic material as the Spirit of Ecstasy ornament. The development team spent over two and a half years perfecting the interior arrangement of this exceptional vehicle.
The Phantom Scintilla is an extremely limited edition, with only 10 units produced globally. In true bespoke fashion, Rolls-Royce has not disclosed the price of these masterpieces, but all 10 vehicles were spoken for even before the official unveiling.
