Avatr 012: A Luxury Electric Vehicle with Limited Availability

Avatr Technology, a prominent electric vehicle (EV) brand backed by Changan Automobile, CATL, and Huawei, has officially unveiled and started pre-sales for the Avatr 012 through the Avatr Brilliant Night 2024 event held in Shanghai, China.

The Avatr 012 is a limited-edition vehicle, designed in collaboration with Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Dior and Fendi. With a price tag of up to 700,000 CNY (approximately $98,100 USD or 2.45 billion VND), only 700 units of this model will be produced globally. As an exclusive bonus, each purchase of the Avatr 012 will include a complimentary tote bag from Dior.

Avatr 012 is the brand’s second limited-edition model. The electric vehicle manufacturer previously launched the Avatr 011, limited to 500 units, on August 8, 2022, alongside the debut of their first SUV, the Avatr 11, a fully electric model.

With dimensions of 5,020 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, 1,469 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 3,020 mm, the Avatr 012 shares a similar body structure to the Avatr 12 but is positioned as a more premium offering with distinct exterior and interior features.

The exterior of the Avatr 012 boasts an exclusive “Liquid Silver” color, creating a sleek and shiny appearance. It features split ‘E’-shaped headlights, a 10,500-pixel interactive HALO screen, and a lidar system integrated into the grille. The grille can automatically open and close for ventilation and air intake. Additionally, two lidar sensors on the front fenders enable advanced driver assistance through Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 3.0 system. The rear of the vehicle showcases slim split taillights and a rear spoiler. Completing the exterior highlights are the new 21-inch alloy wheels, adorned with the Avatr and Kim Jones signatures.

Inside the cabin, the Avatr 012 retains the layout of the Avatr 12, featuring a warm color scheme and integration with Huawei’s HarmonyOS 4. The physical button count has been minimized, complemented by a stylish polygonal steering wheel. A 15.6-inch central control screen and a 35.4-inch integrated screen, encompassing the instrument panel and infotainment system, enhance the overall experience. Additionally, two small screens on the sides serve as digital rearview mirrors. To elevate the interior further, Avatr has included wireless charging trays, a 27-speaker sound system, and Huawei’s advanced ADS 2.0 intelligent driving system.

The Avatr 012’s roof features a starry sky sunroof design, while the second-row seats offer a business-class experience with Nappa leather upholstery, a roof screen, and armrests. The headrests of the seats are embossed with the exclusive Avatr and Kim Jones logo, and owners have the option to personalize the steering wheel and pillar B with their own logo.

Performance-wise, the Avatr 012 is powered by Huawei’s DriveOne dual-motor system, delivering a combined output of 539 horsepower (402 kW / 547 PS). The energy is stored in a CATL 5C Qilin battery, capable of ultra-fast charging, reaching 80% charge in just 10 minutes from 30%.
