With less than a month to go, the Gumball 3000 journey is gearing up to kick off officially. Some of the first supercars have already been shipped to Vietnam by air and are currently housed in Tan Son Nhat Airport’s warehouse.
The world’s largest supercar rally, Gumball 3000, has chosen Ho Chi Minh City as its starting point this year to promote Vietnam’s image to the international community. As planned, the Gumball 3000 2024 rally will commence on September 14th, and the first supercars have already arrived in Vietnam by air. It is understood that these cars are currently assembled at the warehouse of Tan Son Nhat Airport.
This year’s rally features the participation of 121 teams, numbered from 0 to 120. The list is still being finalized, and it includes some of the most prestigious supercars and hypercars. The first supercars to arrive in Vietnam include: Mercedes-Benz E-Class tuned by Brabus 800, Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow pickup truck conversion, Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, Ferrari 812 Competizione, Ferrari 296 GTB, Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, Lamborghini Urus, and the Porsche 911 GT2 RS supercar.
Among the newly arrived supercars in Vietnam, the Ferrari 812 Competizione, limited to just 999 units worldwide, stands out. This car belongs to Team 64, consisting of two Dutch members. The most noticeable difference between the Competizione and the standard Ferrari 812 is the absence of a rear window, replaced by an aluminum panel.
Another notable entry is the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, numbered 57, driven by Team 44’s two American members. This car stands out with its unique design, converted into a pickup truck with a Dodge frame. It also sports an aggressive set of wheels with spiked tires, finished in a bright silver paint job.
As the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series has not yet been officially introduced to the Vietnamese market, its presence in this year’s Gumball 3000 rally has sparked a lot of interest among car enthusiasts.
