Xiaomi SU7 Ultra: A High-Performance Electric Sedan
Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its high-performance electric sedan, the SU7 Ultra, with an impressive power output of over 1,500 horsepower. As the company’s CEO, Lei Jun, announces the start of mass production, let’s take a closer look at what makes this car so special.
According to Carscoops, Lei Jun has fast-tracked the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra into production, just a month after its debut. With an expected delivery date of early 2025, this sedan is poised to make waves in the automotive industry.
Xiaomi, a newcomer to car manufacturing, has quickly made its mark. Backed by its technological prowess and financial strength, the company has achieved impressive milestones. The SU7 Ultra, unveiled last month, shocked the world with its incredible power output, surpassing many renowned supercars.
The SU7 Ultra is a track-focused variant of the standard SU7, featuring aerodynamic enhancements such as a large rear wing, a new front splitter, side skirts, and special racing wheels. These modifications generate a downforce of 2,145 kg, ensuring stability even at high speeds.
Constructed with a carbon fiber body, the SU7 Ultra boasts a lightweight design, weighing 1,900 kg, a significant 400 kg lighter than the Tesla Model S Plaid.
Under the hood, the SU7 Ultra is equipped with two V8s electric motors and one V6s electric motor, all developed and manufactured by Xiaomi. This setup delivers a staggering combined output of 1,548 horsepower, enabling the car to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.97 seconds.
With more power than a Bugatti Chiron, the SU7 Ultra is not for the faint-hearted. To ensure safety, CEO Lei Jun has implemented a mandatory multi-step test for prospective owners to qualify for purchasing this high-performance sedan. While the specifics of the test remain undisclosed, it is likely that Xiaomi will offer multiple driving modes to help manage the immense power of the electric motors.
Pricing details for the SU7 Ultra have not yet been revealed. In the meantime, the standard SU7 is available in three variants, ranging in price from $29,900 to $41,500.
